Here's the thing, I thought 35% was the "legal" limit here. But I was at this shop in College Park getting my Nav installed and several people came in for tint work. When they saw how light 35% looked they all went for the 30% which is slightly darker and looks alot better. When I had mine done (at another shop) they wouldn't put anything darker than 35% on. I'm just regretting it now because I want more upgrades inside the car and you can still see inside even at night with the legal tint.

ive seen a friend with 20s and that looks really sweet... but i have only limited funds, that i would prefer to spend on mods rather than paying tickets :

im trying to keep my mods subtle and legal for the most part.. ill risk having clear corners and junk, but not n0s kits or tints that anyone can see from afar

That's exactly why I'm on the fence about making my windows darker. I've already got a court date next month 72/50 - -$160 ticket And I'd rather not attract any further attention from the local MD law enforcement

The most popular shades by far are the 30% and then closely followed by 20%. The only reason 35% is so light is because in order to actually make it a "legal 35%" we have to use a 40 or 45% film (depending on vehicle) to compansate for the factory tint (hardly noticable to anyone, if at all) in the glass.
