What's wrong with the above? I have ZERO problem with VA clipping someone with these fines if they're guilty.

its not mainly those, its the ones where you have to pay $900 for a rolling stop, or failure to stop when entering a highway... all those guys in nova where you have to rush to get anywhere are screwed

i got a ticket a few yrs ago for not going to a complete stop at a stop sign.. and i was going less than 5mph... if i was fined $900 for it, me and anyone else would be pretty damn pissed

i do believe (correct me if im mistaken for its wording), but the $300 are actually paid 3 times.. one at court, and 2 more over 2 years... so, the CHEAPEST fine you can get for any qualifying offense is $900

i read somewhere that it can not be in arms reach.. like if it was sittin in the back seat or something... i also believe it can be on the windshield, but if the power cord is thrown in the back, then ur okay.. but those are small things probably u would have to argue with in court.. i didnt bother going to court, even though i had a printout of the law, which i lost somewhere, bc the court fees would end up being same for the ticket itself.. plus doesnt go on ur record, so i was like watever

Unless they have probable cause - say they saw the detector light up when they painted you speeding at 83 mph (felony #1) which is 23 miles over the limit (felony #2). There are a bunch of good reasons why a cop could argue probable cause - I saw a radar detector and know they run off of electricity ... people don't normally clip them on their visors for fashion statements so I found a cord sitting in the back of the car where it was apparently tossed by the driver (felony #3) tampering with the evidence.

In my experence the pile-on of charges only results from the biggest crimes.

speeding that much, ok, ticket there, but just bc u have a radar detector doesnt mean u are using it.. in my case, i wasnt, it was unplugged but just sitting there on teh windshield (i travel a lot between va, nc, and md so i forget about it a lot).. innocent until guilty (supposedly ) also passing by that fast, i highly doubt they can tell if it was on cept at night... which is why im getting 35% tints tomorrow

Uh, don't you mean at least 30%? I've got 35% on and to be honest it looks pretty $hitty on a black car. I'm thinking about going darker, but with MD cops always needing to make the monthly quota out here it's a risk...
