Unhappy Fyi: Deer Suck!

Just figured I would let those that know me, the Lotus kneecapped a couple of deer somewhere in Iowa/Nebraska over the weekend.

Looks like it will be down for a while if not for good. No one was hurt, (other then the deer of course) but the front of the car needs replacing at a minimum.

No I don't have pics. It was like 1 AM on a Sunday and I was in literally 60 miles from any type of town/city. Could not find a hotel for the life of me.

Anyway, just wanted to say keep an eye out for those buggers.... The seem to like to stand in a group in the middle of the road trying to decide whether they want a ride from a passing motorist or a meal on the shoulders...

Ugh, deer are such a nuisance nowadays since there are so many laws limiting the ability to cull their population. What else was damaged besides the front clam? Windshield?

There must be a bad streak going on for Loti as of late... I know of several other people who have gotten hit recently, including myself last Friday.

Edit: What the hell were you doing all the way out in Iowa/Nebraska with your Lotus? That's WAY too far of a drive for that little car... how's your lower back?

How are there so many freakin deer left? They have got to be the stupidest animals to ever set eyes on concrete, at least squirrels and cats and stuf try to get out of the way...those effin deers just stand there and think they can stare you down and you will not hit them...who do they think they are, Chuck Norris?

Looks like your best bet is to go back to hitting squirrels.

Well I feel you BAM, just be thankful you were not driving you buds car the day he got it out of the shop....lol!

Deer suck, I say we starting eating more BAMBI meat to decrease the population...FYI route 606 near FunctionedT equals at least a 10 deer sighting in the road after 10pm...garanteed.

Your not hurt, so lets drink....next time I see you, first round is on me.
I loved that skittle...lol (old memories)

Yea not having a lot of luck right now.. The car was holding up fine to all the driving (I was supposed to be on the Navigator's Run in the Midwest, but it got cancelled... Still trying to get my damn entry fee back !!!!). Surprisingly, I the lotus rides pretty decently. No real problems with the back or butt, but definitely with the legs over multiple days of 12 hour+ driving.

I was trying to make it back from Las Vegas to Chicago for work Monday... no suck luck

The front clamshell was busted up in a # of places, headlights were kicked out and some of the plastic vents were missing, but otherwise the front look to be in pretty decent shape. The passenger side windshield was smashed to pieces.. Bugger almost came through the window into my girls lap... She was not happy to say the least. Biggest problem is the drivers door is jammed shut. I can only hope the frame is not bent. I did not see any liquids or anything on the ground and the car appears to drive OK for the short distance it took to slow down and pull over to the shoulder.

Won't know anymore until the insurance adjuster looks at it later this week. I think I will have it shipped back to MD and have Criswell look at it and decide if it is repairable. Wish me luck with that as I am way underwater on the loan and just refied so lost my gap coverage...

OH, did someone say CF...... I think someone did.... LMFAO

considering the car, at least nobody was hurt and you didn't spin out or something.

I looked at those, and fit-and-finish are supposedly pretty lackluster - plus they're pretty flimsy. And on a car that's already as fragile as it is, it's a disaster waiting to happen in my opinion...
