I will have to check with the track owner. Let me know if Dave is bringing some though.

Thumbs up

I forgot to mention, there is a go-cart track right across the street from the drag strip. They also have a driving range, putput and a paintball field.

SO, if you are not running your car and are looking for something else to do. This should help you pass the time.

You can see the go cart track in the pic showing the dragstrip.

after my shake down run at crapitol this past saturday , it looks like I have some work to do to get ready for track day. I made 4 passes where I was getting bad launches, either too low and bogging the car, or too high and spinning the tires. The last run, I snapped both axles trying to launch too hard so I have DSS stage 2 replacements on the way. Also, the car felt weird around the 4600-5500 rpm range like it was running out of fuel. Looks like I'll have to get Dave to go over the UTEC and fine tune some things as well. Hopefully I'll be able to get all of this done before the end of september. After snapping my axles I'm debating on whether to run drag radials or not. If anything else in the drivetrain breaks, I'm pretty far away from home.

Id assume he did with his DR's...that is something David and you Charles-need to work on, if you launch too agressively on an aftermarket clutch and its snap, that stocker was previously softening up your launches...David we will have Gooey bring his tow truck, so worst case scenario you could tow it lol...hopefully we wont be fighting for spots on it. Curious David what did you run?

Jon-been practicing with that truck?

That and I'll have my truck and trailer. If I break something (I'm a wus so most likely not) or if someone else breaks something. But Gooey should def still bring the tow truck.

Agreed. We need you to give all us noobs a lesson in preloading and launching. I'll be on street tires so I think I'll be ok. I know DR's or better will give me better times but I want to learn to launch with less traction and work up to launching with more.

I will bring the flat bed. Hopefully it wont be a problem for lowered cars. Also if you guys want backup I have friends in the towing business that can give us cheap flat rates. They will only charge about $50 a tow

Thats ridiculously cheap for a tow! Also, try and bring some 2x4's with the tow truck, it'll help with any lowered cars.

Man, I don't know what was going on. I'm embarrassed to post my slips with the passes I was getting. Either bogged the launch or spun and had to let off and the shift. Plus the issue with the top end. *sigh* Lets just say, I lost 3 mph from last time and 0.3 seconds of E.T. Hopefully I get things straightened out on track day and have a chance to practice launching. You are right, I think dumping the clutch with the aftermarket unit was too much for the drivetrain. Hopefully DSS stage 2 will hold up, my sound was up there with Brent, went to take off and *BOOM* car didn't move an inch.
