Sorry to reign down on your party but ifyou dont want to throw down to have your front blended inthen you will never get a perfect color match. I mean NEVER. People say they got theirs perfectly matched but they dont know $HIT! Just leave the car there and have them blended.

See I'll be happy with that if the color was actually matched.
I don't want my Z to be the color that the v1. bumper actually is. It' a different silverstone and does not match. That is my concern. If they blend my hood and fenders to the color that the v1. is, it'll be a different overall silverstone color, not the oem kind.

as the bodyman i work with likes to say: "you pay for beans you get beans, you pay for chicken you get chicken; don't expect to pay for beans and get chicken!" lol 9 times out of 10 the color will not match when you only paint a bumper but most shops don't blend the whole front end for JUST a bumper job (insurance won't pay it so unless the customer wants to pay COD on it most cars go with a slight miss-match.) Black is a much easier color to match than silver b/c there are SOOO many more variables involved when spraying a metalic (up to and including the air pressure of the spray gun) as opposed to a non-metallic black. Mercedes for example has a paint code 040 which is their standard black and you typically don't need to blend any adjacent panels no matter where on the vehicle you spray it although we do it anyways. Goodluck with finding a shop to match it perfectly, if i were you i would take a look around and see whose doing good quality work and actually taking the time to do spray out cards. I have a 3 stage yellow so i'm lucky if i can even find a painter willing to do work on my car let alone one who can actually match it! haha

sorry to double post but i just read this. doors and quarter for a ft. bumper?! 2 MONTHS!?!?!?!?!!!!! wtf are they on?! if u took ur car to a normal collision shop it would be there for maybe a week at the most! haha the furthest i would EVER think u would go is front of the hood and front of the fenders if u were to go with the blend route. it all falls under "adjacent panels" and they get deductions on labor time for overlap (but ofcourse they arent going to tell YOU that) lol

Once the kit on, you can pretty much tell the different, almost like 2 different color, for me is way off, not even close, I can't just blend the front end and leave the rest alone.

Then again, LS is a very easy color to match, CS is one of the more harder ones. I haven't seen a single body shop that matched CS 100%. It's almost as bad as white!
Too me it doesnt make sense AT ALL to send jus one piece. I got T-Bone a year ago and one of the Car Toys 2 owner worked at Fred Nissan then, my car is absolutley perfect, all the way down the side of the car.

But they again he had my entire car to work with.

What most of us dont know is that certain colors...like mine and yours are 2 or 3 stage paint. To match that perfectly you need the entire car so that they can see if its needs to be darker or lighter.

I can say that I am black, but my skin tone could match Abui01 or Grace Jones...thats a huge difference in tones LOL!

Take the entire car there and leave happy, at this point you are committed to them fixing it right, they are good guys and should take car of you, however you need to drop off your car.

Why pay someone else to do the same thing, if they dont have the car, you will be in the same boat with another shop.

Car Toys 2 FTW!

Look 3 PPW..three different colors!

Christ, I think I was on something last night lol.
I took the Z out this morning. I noticed the slight difference between the tone of the colors, but it's a slim difference and hopefully it would be corrected by blending. I feel like an *** now...

I personally wouldn't come on here and question a shop, such as CT2's ability, when they are known for only producing the best work and you did nothing but make it hard for them.. CT2's work and reputation speaks for the company so I'm not really going to defend them as I don't feel that's necessary, but I will say what I think of the matter. You can't just take a used bumper(not in the best shape) to a shop and expect a perfect match especially with your color, then bargain him down from a $500 quote(which you said other shops quoted you as well) to $300, then not even give them a paint code until last week even when it was asked of you before. Maybe it's just me, but I really find it hard to put the blame on any shop when you don't give them the whole car, don't provide them with the right info or info at all, take the cheapest way out and still expect perfection. Like I said before, CT2 is arguably the top custom shop in the nation and their work provides proof. For those of you who don't know who they are check them out www.myspace.com/cartoyz2llc
I'm sure Arthur will comment if I stated anything wrong or w/e. Arthur takes a lot of pride in his work and has worked hard to earn the outstanding reputation that he has, so I sincerely doubt that he will let anyone be not satisfied with the quality of CT2's work.

Hmm.. How could that front bumper be genuine Nismo V1? The V1 has the 2 pieces style (lip and bumper). That looks like the same bumper that I have which is the Aerosync bumper in Polyurethane.

By the way, Car Toyz 2 FTW!

You need to learn how to tell the WHOLE story and stop calling it the Nismo V.1. Even after you slipped in that is in fact the aerosinc you still called it the Nismo.

yeah, i would have to say that Arthur and the other guys from CT2 by far are as top notch as they come. he did the body work on my car and i was more than satisfied with the quality. i even had him mold the front lip and rear skirt to the bumpers and it came out perfect.

+1 one on them having the entire car. when i got my work done i just left the car their for a week or so. then they were able to put the side skirts and bumpers on and verify the paint match. i think i remember him telling me they had the side skirts done, mounted them, weren't satisfied with the match and redid them so they would be flawless. to me that's dedication to perfection, which is what i want from a shop.

here is a quick photo of the work they did. the front is Greddy lip molded to the stock front bumper, with Greddy side skirts. you can't see in this shot, but the rear is a veilside v1 rear skirt molded to the stock rear bumper.
