this would have happened, ricer meet or no ricer meet! lol i'm just glad it happened in a place that the cops are so cool as opposed to one where they would have found a reason to give me tickets. lol

They didn't tow your *** to anywhere for free. That's like saying your insurance company fixed your car after you wrecked it for free.

Bottom line, in Maryland most tow truck companies do not accept AAA, This means when you break down, you must call AAA and have them setup a tow truck.

Again I can use anyone and guess what.... it doesn't cost me a dime outside of the yearly cost of the policy.... $4.40 The main thing that makes it worth while to me is that any tow truck that stops to ask "hey do you need a tow" I can say YES! unlike with AAA where I'd say do you take AAA? and they'd say nope and drive off.

just wonderful.

Only thing worth while AAA wise is the fact that you can get discounts on some things like hotels. Even then I'd rather pay 4 dollars a year for roadside service then to pay $50.00 a year or whatever AAA is now.

Yea man, we started hearing about it at the show. We had to go down and do a photo shoot for Dash, and someone came by and was talking about a yellow Z that wrecked or something, and we were thinking the worst.

Sorry about your luck, but much better than hearing it was wrecked =)

Yeah it wasnt free. I pay 150 a year for two cars and upto 150miles of free towing. Considering tow truck rates these days it was free. MD sucks. VA sucks, but at least my AAA has helped me.

ohh and FYI: you can call a hotel and ask for the AAA rate, then hang up and call back for the regular rate and the AAA rate can be higher.

I use my AAA for towing. Those two times in Richmond paid for itself for like 5 years of annual dues.

Try breaking down 100 miles from home, then ask me if you need AAA or not.

GEEESCH!

Its always a depressing thought when the Z is down for the count. Good luck with...I am sure she will be on the road in no time.

Found out what was wrong with my car this afternoon and i am a little bit pissed but relieved at the same time. apparently when my new transmission was installed a few months ago they never tightened the nut/bolt that connects the shifter to the trans and it fell off resulting in the free play of the shifter that i was feeling. Car is supposedly fixed but I am having them put a new boot on the underside of the trans tunnel that they tore and never replaced the last time it was fixed so i get it back sometime tomorrow (but probably not until after the meet and eat at tysons).

You don't seem to understand, I pay $4.40 For the same service you get, however I get to use any tow company I want.

So 5 years using my insurance on 2 cars = $42.00 5 years paying your AAA rates = $750.00

I'm still not sure how that's better.

I'm not sure what the total miles with my insurance I think it might only be 100 miles per tow, however I can break down 3 times in a year and use up to the limit each time, where with AAA if yo break down twice at 100 miles each, you'll be over 50 miles of your yearly limit.

Damn, same thing happened to me when I was Va last year! My hex bolt broke, had to get it towed to Victory Nissan, rent a car to go back to NC and pay $200 for a $2.00 bolt! Labor was $198.00 dollars!

Edit: thinking of this thread, I still havent got towing or rental on my insurance.
