I heard if you don't have an oil cooler, your car could potentially blow up at any given moment. Common... you should get one, everyone's doin it... you should do it too! Alberto has gold duct tape, that's his way of "cooling" his engine bay, I'd be weary of that guy.

And to get you started on your modding adventure, abui has a "slightly used" front bumper to sell ya. Just needs a little buffing to get the scratches out.

Basically, a machine to see how much horsepower and torque your car is putting down to the wheels.

Ok, I figured it was that. Maybe it's just me and I am new to the whole tuner community thing, but I thought A DYNO was more of an event where people might do some car discussion and maybe a few road tests and stuff. Not just BBQ and find out that I failed on the z report card. Haha. I might go, but I mos def ain't gonna put my car up on the dyno so peeps can laugh at me cuz I did my first mod that has me prolly running at 297 hp. I'd be emberrassed. Maybe after the exhaust and a few other mods get done I'll get on the dyno.

297? .... try 240 ... the Dealership advertised HP is brake horse power NOT wheel horse power.

A 2003 stock 350Z dyno around 230-240 wheel horse power. Intakes are mostly for show. Believe it or not the stock intake is just as efficient.

You'll find out the almost everyone here uses WHEEL horse power to describe their power. Brake horse power is for car salesmen and bench racers.

No need to be embarrassed. Just ask MDRacer who now has the fastest looking but slowest Z ever. I kid mike, I kid.

And how bad would you feel if I told you your car will probably pull a significant amount less than 297 on the dyno?

Just stick around and have a good time. Not everyone has to dyno. Some of us may not even have their cars out. Most of us just like to have a good time and goof off.

Im also sure if you stick around enough you can come across some cheap mods too. There are a few of us in this region who seem to change mods like we change women or underwear for those of you who are taken.

Dyno days are a great way to meet your fellow tuners and put faces with the words. Even if you dont dyno you will get a good taste of what mods are out there and what they can do on the 350z's. Like everyone said no matter what you do have fun with it and perform the mods that suit you best whether it be for show or go.

Man, so far alot of good advice has been given out...as driven1 said earlier there really is no need to be embarassed dynoing your car whether its stock or boosted! Its mainly about having a good time and getting to know members of the community.

Quite frankly, I felt the same way you did when i got my Z! A friend of mine talked me into going to the Dyno Day at FT last year, thats where I got my stock '03 dynoed for the first time...I was actually surprised by the numbers I got (especially on the heart-break dyno @ FT)! I got a few things out of the experience,
- I found what my cars baseline WHP was, so I have something to work off of when I start modding
- I found a really good, reputatable shop that I know I can trust and
- I met a bunch of really chill people who are as passionate about there ride as I am, if not more so!

Just ask MDRacer who now has the fastest looking but slowest Z ever. I kid mike, I kid.
I would assume its because he spends so much on tires! Although I would have to say you have single handledly (or at least mostly) turned the FT caul de sac into a piece of modern art! BRAVO!
