Its About Time! VA Abusive Driver Fees Repealed
In a surprising move, the communist state of VA actually listend to its constituents and repealed the widely unpopular Abusive Driver Fees that ranged from $750 to $3,000 for drivers convicted of reckless driving, driving with a suspended licence and drunken driving. These fees were assesed in addition to the regular price of such a conviction. Don't get me wrong, those who are convicted of drunken driving deserve what's coming to them but to incur these fees for reckless driving?!? According to legislators these fees were enacted strictly to make the roads safer, (actually it was pretty clear that they were enacted to raise revenue for the Transportation Department) however the death toll for VA roads rose to over 1,000 for the first time since 1990. I say good riddance!

This is something worth celebrating. These sinister fee's created an uproar amongst Virginia's population; fitting that the guy (Albo) who created the bill voted to repeal it. Whats wrong pal, a little worried that EVERYONE IN THE STATE hates you and would end your term come next election?
Whats better is that they are going to refund the drivers have already paid these draconian fees.

.. lets not count our chickens before they are hatched ...
the repeal has passed the house, it now needs to go to the senate, and be signed by the gov. and then be assigned an effective date.
good news indeed.. but once the whole process is complete, I'll party
