Default Weird problems after supercharger

Just curious if anyone had problems with their heating system after installing a supercharger or turbo. I guess I never paid attention but during the winter now I start my car up in the mornings and put the heater on and 15 to 20 mins later the car is still blowing cold air. The only way I get hot air coming from the heater is when the car is moving. Very weird and also the temp gauge for outside air temp is off by 10 to 15 degrees. Is this just a coincidence?

I had the same issues. The temp gauge for outside was off by 10-15 degrees, but I got heat if it was turned all the way up. If the thermostat was backed off a bit, then I got cold air. I'm curious why this happens. I'm assuming that the supercharger sits right by where whatever the sensor they use for the outside air is located but the heating thing has got me.

dj kinda has it right. Its likely that you have air in your cooling system! My car did the same thing-accumulated over a 1 year period bad enough to overheat the car after a run to 160mph BAD! Built and stock block FI set-ups should be purged 1X a year IMO. I bought a kit to help you do it 100% correctly, no need to mess with the stupid factory purge open, close, open, close while somebody revs it. Try to handle this ASAP even though its cold you dont want air in the system. Id offer to help you out its so easy with the right stuff, takes all of 15 minutes.

I just got my new radiator installed so it should be purged, but I might have to see you at some point to do it again, maybe towards the end of summer or something.

Purging via the factory location is very tricky and for some not an adequate solution. Let me know when you want to do it David I'll help you out.

How new? This may be the cause of the air in the system.

The heating thing happened to me after a header install! try running your car with the rad cap off. every once in a while rev the engine. Squeeze the upper hose and release quickly. try this for a couple of min and keep filling it up via rad cap this will solve the prob. and as far as the thermo guage goes, wrap the SC with a thermo sheild.
