Default Oh what a day (Teaser Pics)

Well, the day started off at 0900 (gotta love taking leave!) as I rolled out of bed and ate breakfast. Showered, hopped in the car, and headed up to see Dave. Got to the shop at 1101, to see Dave opening the door for me, awesome I think to my self, right on time . I wandered around the shop as Dave put Dave's car back together, and the lamps sat heating my rear fenders. My car goes on the lift, and my wheels come off. Fenders get rolled, I throw on my old 25mm spacers, and clean the brembo's off. At this point, I was very excited to put my wheels on this afternoon. Everything gets bolted back on, my car is outside the shop, and I run in to Dave to buy some spark plugs (trying to help my gas mileage on the upcoming journey). I head home.

Traffic... Who cares, I think to myself, today will be a good day!

I cut through Fort Belvoir, and decide to wash my car. I can't roll around on freshly polished wheels, and a dirty as hell black car, it just doesn't make sense I say! I drop 4 bucks in quarters on a few minutes of washing. When I finish up, I go to get in to my car, and SLIP! (My shoes have no tread at all, because they are like 4 years old, I wear them when I know I will be getting dirty...) I fall to the ground, and notice my Oakleys flying through the air. They hit the ground rather hard (I'm guessing the top of my head to the ground is a pretty long way LOL). I run to the glasses, pick them up, and noticed them cracked to hell. Awesome I think. Then I think, it's ok! I have a clean car, and clean wheels I'm about to put on!!

I head out, and notice my gas light is on. Well, since I'm already on base, I figure I will get some gas! $48.68 later I'm filled up, and rolling out. I fly home to see the mail man dropping off my mail. I immediately think to my self "YES! My front spacers are here, perfect timing!!!" Wrong.... Mailman didn't have my spacers. I run inside to check my tracking number, and see that I'm supposed to have my spacers, they were supposed to be delivered today. As I'm ranting and raving, and calling the post office. My door bell rings The mail man hands me my spacers, and apologizes for not dropping them off the first time. As soon as this happens, I grab my tools, grab a wheel, and head outside.

I jack the drivers side rear up first, and remove the stock wheel. I put my Aero on with the 25mm spacers I had put on earlier, and tighten everything up. Something doesn't seem right I say to myself, but no bother, looks right to me. Lower the car, roll it around (to let the coilovers settle) and just gaze. I love it. The spacers throw it out of the fenders a lot, but not toooo much. I love the way it sits. Now, I head for the other side. Again, something doesn't feel right, so I double check, and can't see anything wrong.

Here's when my dad starts to suck some more. I remove the stock front. Bolt up the Eibach 15mm spacers, and go to put my Aero on. Noooooo!!!!!!!! It doesn't work! The factory studs come through the spacer, and so does the bolt to hold the spacer on to the hub. I look at the back of the Aero, thinking it is designed just like the track wheel, hollow in the back. Nope....It's just flat, with 5 holes for the studs to come through. That's when it hit me, thats the problem with the back... I pull the rears off, and guess what I saw, yep, indentions from the factory studs, on the back of my wheel. Dammit! I'm saying, "what am I gonna do!!!"

I called Dave

He said "just grind down the studs man, thats all you gotta do. Well, theres no way in hell that will work for the front, its just toooo much of a gap. I pull the eibachs off (which are now up for sale ) and bolt my stock fronts back on, along with my stock rears. I jump in the car and head off to my shop on Belvoir. I take off the rears, and start grinding away. Everything is flush, so I head home, and bolt up my rears. Its allll goood now. Sits flush on the hub, and looks MONEY!

Now I know you only came in to the thread for the teaser pics, so here ya go...

Now I have to order some front spacers, with longer studs. I guess 60mm will be good for a 15mm spacer. Now, somebody buy my 15s I just received today lol.

CLIFF NOTES
Got fenders rolled
Washed car
Broke glasses
Got gas
Didn't get spacers in mail
GOT spacers in mail LOL
Wheels didnt fitttt
Grinded rear studs
Wheels fit!
Fronts are gay, gotta order new spacers

And in case you're wondering, I will not be driving around like this. I'm gonna overnight some spacers from Japan, but tomorrow I'll be driving my mommies Neon

Looks nice! Oh I know most people dont agree on acid wheel washing but they work wonders as longas the wheels can handle it. Im not too sure but I think the iforged can handle it. I just washed my exhaust tips with an acidic solution and they look newer then the day i bought them.
