Alberto, if you just wanted to improve your driving skills and see what the car's true capabilities are (even for us stock folks) is going to the track a good option? After reading posts from you, DavidV and some others I'd like to take mine out some time but I don't have slicks, a helmet or any other equipment...

VERY bored. I moved crates and stuff with the bobcat for about 2 hours, now I'm practically done for the day. I'm also running off of 7 hours the past 2 nights, combined, so I'm ready to pass out.

That guy is fun as hell

Do you have any kind of FI on your car? If not you wont need any of the above. The slicks maybe after you get it down on street tires....Come out to the track day in April-you'll get tons of practice then

No FI what-so-ever! I was trying to hold out and remain the only un-modded SB in Columbia (until some 50 y/o lady pulled up next to me in a parking lot with the exact same car)
I plan to do a bunch of "upgrades" this year now that my budget is under control, but after listening to all you FI and TT members go on I figured you had to have all that prior to getting on a track. I'm pretty good in a straight line, but my twistie knowledge is pitiful...
I'll try and catch you guys this Spring!

WELL THANKS FOR THE INFO GUYS I wanna go turbo but i don't exactly have the MULA right now for that...granted i can get a Greddy TT set up for 5Grand + another 600 for the inter cooler so all in all about 8-9 grand for turbo kit and install, and kit comes with pistons, rods, Valve Springs, Valves, Injectors, fuel pump, turbo exhaust manifold's downpipes...etc..and I mean its a hell of a kit...but most guys i see who have them are only running 8-9lbs of boost...i had a civic that was boosted and it was running 9lbs on low boost and 18 pounds on high boost. why do the Z's run so low of boost?

the Z has 10.3:1 compression. With the stock bottom end, it can't take high levels of boost and high horsepower. Then again, 9 psi on a Z is fast, relatively, at least in my opinion anyway.

All I'm saying is the best way to know is to Dyno it, opinions will vary drasticly until you have a piece of paper with you individual results.
I'll bet you any $$$ no Z with just 2 bolt-ons will gain 20whp.

<---waits for you to bust out your whack dyno!

Hell yeah! The track = the truth, its a wake up call or an apporoval for how good or "bad" you are. You could improve .5 in a few trips or over 1 year, at the end of the day you would have much more experience than most "online drivers" who dont REALLY know how to launch, shift, where to shift, etc. NA vs NA Id pick a good driver in a stock Z vs a bolt-on Z ANYDAY...also, tracks rent/loan helmets for those in the 13's, so no worries. Go to the April 11th track day...I started racing my Z when it was bone stock, lucky for me by the time I got it I had improved substantially. First time out ever runs went in this order. 13.80, 13.77, 13.86-hows 3 runs within .1 for the first time out? Seat time is a good thing.

The AAM 2.5" exhaust gives 12 - 16 HP gain
http://www.alteredatmosphere.com/mm5..._Code=350Z_EXH

The MotorDyne plenum spacer gives 10 - 13HP gain.

Soo.. 16HP + 13HP = 29HP!!!

PS: Hopefully my sarcasm was detected.

Whoa that sucks for you guys with the older Z. My car came with 306 horsepowers from Nissan. Since then I added an exhaust and an intake so I have 331 horsepowers now. I just called my salesman to confirm this.

YEAH 306 at the crank there buddy...lol i raced a new Z today that had an intake an an exhaust and he pulled like maybe a half a car on me...so not bad for the older Z with the same mods as the new one and still keeping nose to nose with it. and I hope you didn't pay over 600 bucks for an exhaust...any custom shop could do it for les...my true dual 2.5" piping was done for 500 bucks...i saw the exhaust prices online and I was like FUDGE that.

my whack dyno? WTF? it's like your the only person thats ever right on here.

The one and only thing I am stating is that he isn't going to be able to geuss his WHP, whether it's 220, 230, 240 or 250, no one will know until it's dynoed. Everyone posting "geusstimates" is bench racing IMO
