To be honest Eric im not offended at all. Like you said, I posted the picts up here to get some input and maybe some new Ideas. As long as I like what's going on with my car then that's all that matters to me; I had my opinion when I said your rims look like they belong on a Mustang. See that's the good thing about being an American freedom of speech!

Just clarifying. It is a little difficult to read the tone of somebodies typing.

Bolded print = truth.

FYI ... Messing with a 03-05 Z light housing can drastically reduce the illumination of the light. The reflective material around the light is needed.

The 06+ Z's headlights are different because they are true HIDs and do not require reflective material.

I think you should black out the headlights and take that splitter off.

But thats my opinion. If you like it than thats cool too

Not feeling the lights but it was a good idea and if you like them who cares. The splitter needs to sit further back and it looks like its not even (although that could be the slight angle taken in the front pic). I think it would look REALLY good if installed in the proper position. FYI, Splitters can drastically change the aero on your car at higher speeds and my concern would be lift with it sticking out that far. The wheels need spacers but the style looks really good.

What do you mean by 'true HID'? What is 03-05?

03-05 are Projection HIDs.

I have projector lens' on my '03 w/ HID's... like all HID's

HID is simply High intensity Discharge ie. 7k, 9k, 10k, 11k bulbs that generally require a ballast. D2R and D2S are the bulb codes for the Z right? I believe another diffrence is the gas that the bulb is filled with. (ie. Halogen, Xenon, etc.)

What point are you trying to make?

The "Projection" HIDs on 03-05 models are no where similar to 06-08 HIDs.

I think the arguement on the HID's is not that you do not have them, but that due to the projector design the chrome reflectors are essential to the light dispersion properties of those head lamps. The 06's use a true prjector setup where all of the light is forced through the projector lens.

Our 03-05's simply have a projector "lens" that happens to sit infront of all that light...part of the reason our cars have no defined cut off...

The point of my short story is that by painting your entire headlight housing you drastically reduce the amount of light output from your healights, but if you drive in the day time or just want "that look" than more power to you, and I wish you the best of luck in your travels...
