Hey I will offer up my shop again for the day if anyone needs to put their car on a lift for anything.
I can also try to have a trailer on standby just in case.
I am about 10-15 minutes from the track.

Cant wait to meet up with everybody again and see people running their cars. I wont be driving my car, so I'll be glad to help anybody out.

Davidv-want to run on slicks? We can get you down to the LOW 13' second range in a few passes

Thanks for the offer but I will be fine on street tires. I am pretty excited also. Members like Rkemp1 and tywinter have improved dramatically over the past couple of months. This should give us some close heads-up racing for NA 350Zs.

I am a little disappointed that I may never see a mid-a-mamma vs Amber race.

I had some pretty serious personal issues come up recently so I wont be able to buy my wheels and slicks before the race day so if you or anyone else who isnt racing has a set of slicks sitting around I would gladly pay a reasonable rental fee to use them for the Track day.

I wouldn't mind trying slicks so I can launch harder but I'm still worried about snapping axles though. Too bad I can't make this meet, but I'll still be going to the track whenever anyone wants to set up a day.

Alberto: every time I took my axles off after breaking them, that one nut on the end was so loose I could turn it by hand. You think that contributes to the breaking and it would help if that thing is checked regularly and kept tight? Was it the same situation for you when you broke your sets of axles?

You need to TQ the fawk out of the large axle nuts. Is the shaft breaking or is it the CV joint? If its the joint it could be something as silly as the c-clip coming off. Any axle shop/good tech can repair that and repack the boot and your good to go (Ive experienced this). I havent had issues with the large nut coming loose. David-sounds like your still not doing something right, you shouldnt be breaking axles so much, having that loose could cause extra play in the axle and when launching it will essentially weaken the drivetrain.

at the track, the shaft broke right by the wheel. The CV joint broke last time when I launched too hard on radials. But this one broke just from wheelhopping. I'll make sure to check the nut every so often, especially before racing. You are right, something is up.

BTW what did you torque yours to?

If you start hopping, abort the run. Everyone has opinions on this, but Ive seen MANY more broken axles on DR's compared to slicks. Slicks soften up the launch and shock on the drivetrain, and they dont hop. I never used a TQ wrench any of the 4 times I swapped mine, just did it nice and snug with a breaker bar. I check them when wheels are off and still tight.
