I was driving my car (with cold tires since I just started it up) and the turbos spooled up quickly like they always do causing my rear tires to break loose. I fishtailed and ended up hitting a curb (unfortunate for my front and rear wheels). So, the car is in for repairs and my lesson on driving in the winter has been learned.

OH NOES! Sorry to hear that Dave. Glad you're ok though and the car is repairable. It happens to the best man.

Just be careful out there guys. I almost lost it on an icy bridge last night in my truck and thats a terd. Boosted or not, in the winter driving more cautious is the good way to go, and even then, nothing is guaranteed.

yeah, from now on i'm going to wait until it's warm out, and probably not boost it much on the street. Going to try ET streets at the track this year (Jon will need your help picking out the right size rims and tires) and see how it feels when it pulls through gears 1-4 with no spinning.

yeah, but also would make me very nervous when racing. it was easier when i didn't care what I ran, I was just going for reaction times, trap speeds, and to go to at least 4th round in bracket racing. All of which I was good at.

Pushing the car for good times is how things break. Paying college tuition is slowing my turnaround time when parts break so I might take it easy for the spring and summer. Alberto and Gooey and Aceman, if you guys go to the track on days other than 4/11 keep me posted as I might join.

I was thinking weld racing pro-stars 15x8 with 5.5" backspacing. Isn't that right Gooey? Also, what bolt pattern 5x_____ i need help with that part. I'm assuming it should be the 5x4.5" one?

hmm price wise the welds arent that much more expensive as I thought. I wish I checked those out before I bought the jegs.

Ask Alberto or Aceman about tires. I have 26" tires but I believe they are shorter then the stock diameter so its like running shorter gears. I think for boosted cars its better to run 27-28" tires? Not 100% sure.

Id run much lower than 11.8 with 118mph worth of trap lol. I agree man, the difference between me and most is when I go to the track I fully EXPECT to break something, and have downtime/repair costs. I feel ya on not going for broke man, no shame in that. On DR's or slicks 12.2 easy @ 114-116mph.

I dont like the wobble on the 27" tire (almost killed myself-but I dont have skinnies and that would have helped me), I run longer gearing though. Longer gears are good for 500+whp Z's with the right powerband IMO. Otherwise 26" X 10.5/11.5" works...

Sooo I don't wanna break shet on the new car, especially since I'm just going in order to have fun and see what I can do, should I just run on my streets then? or go for the ETstreets?

Now you've got me scurred lol jk
