where to buy Nismo
Sigh.....
let me try this again, BY LAW no dealership for a car or motorcycle can turn down your warranty due to after market parts unless they can prove that the part you installed caused the problem.
If you install an exhaust, and the water pump goes out, they have to warranty the work, if you install a intake and tranny goes out, they have to warranty it. If you install an exhaust and while doing that you break one of the brake lines, then they WILL NOT warranty the brake line.... get it?
I could have a fully built motor making 600WHP with not a single stock part, if my tail light stops working due to a bad wire, and nothing I've installed has anything to do with the bad wire, they BY LAW have to warranty it.
Anything you install WILL NOT void the warranty, unless its proven to be the cause of the problem.
Warranty info is something a lot of people are uninformed about, I believe most of this is from dealerships LYING to customers.
When I bought my 2007 Motorcycle I was told to schedule an appointment for the 500 mile service. They told me straight up that if I didn't have the 500 mile service done by an authorized dealer, my warranty would be void. I look straight at the guy and laughed right in his face and told him, "what, you think I'm stupid?"
Bottom line, if you do as the manual says, they by law cannot void your warranty.
In the case of my motorcycle, it was.
oil change
check engine mount bolts
check tire air
check chain adjust if needed
check exhaust for loose bults
That was about it. 30 minutes of work, prices for dealerships to do it $200.00-$300.00
As far as the exhaust goes, if the car is up on a lift, removing old and installing the new exhaust should not take any longer then 15 minutes.
Main problem you'll run into if you do it yourself is maybe a stuck nut, however dealerships just use an air wrench and break the nut off and call it a day since the new exhaust has all new nuts/bolts. Again 15 mins or so from start to finish (if the car is already up in the air)

Jeff...I appreciate you going through all of that, but...with regard to warranty issues, my point was buying a new exhaust versus a used system.
I got you the first time.
Appreciate the input.

I have the Injen and like it. It is loud but not verly so until you put your foot in it.
