Well, if they are in their cruiser, I don't think they should pay. Personal vehicles, yes.

If thier not on official police business, then cruiser or personal vehicle, they should pay. This is rediculous.

its kinda two sided i know for a fact that when state troopers go threw the training they are told to drive aggressive thats how they were taught to do it so there going to speedo n the other hand i agree if they are not in pursuit then do the F$%king speed limit or atleast 10 over it like every one else.

way to go to be a role model. I'm a firm believer of "do as I do" not of "do as I say".

if their lights aren't on, they should be obeying all traffic rules that they are supposed to be enforcing and setting examples for.

they should def pay if they arent on their way to a scene or doing something official. no reason why they should be above the law they are abusing their powers.

^^it does, but it seems as though every cop today abuses the priviledge. flying through roads to get to dunkin donuts without hitting traffic.

Thats just the way cops are, its expected. I garuntee that if you turned all of the Mid-A section into cops, 6 months from now 90 percent of us would be doing the same thing.

Every job has its perks. If your company gave you a discount, would you be upset if they took it away from you?

Police aren't above the law -- they're citizens just like you and I. If an officer breaks the law, he/she should be held accountable just as any other citizen would, barring extenuating circumstances. I am also a firm believer in the use of lights/sirens whenever the task at hand requires an officer to drive in excess of the speed limit... they're there for a reason.

That is a load of chait... It is just the Union trying to exert it's power...
If you read to the end, they blocked having pursuit cameras installed in the police cruisers. Why would they do that, it simply provides a record of all traffic stops and is PROOF for them in court... UNLESS they are afraid it will catch them doing things they should not be doing... I.E: reckless driving, abusive use of power, or other suspicious activity...
Just my initial thoughts anyway.

Who cares if cops don't have to pay speeding tickets when in a police cruiser? Is it going to affect you in ANY way othan to give you spiteful satisfaction?
