Default V2 Engine stronger then V1???

Hey guys/gals,

I don't know how many of you have gone through the process of having your motor replaced due to oil consumption issues but I recently had my engine changed out to the v2 engine (#10102-AC7MZ) and I have to tell you that it runs pretty damn different, It picks up a lot better on the low end then my previous engine (v1) and just pulls harder or sure as hell feels like it. I have had a few other peeps drive my care before the motor swap and they agree that the car drives hella better. Has anyone Dynod this motor yet???

It is also my understanding that some of the parts that were upgraded in the V2 engine were Pistons/Piston rings along with some other items that Nissan apparently is not disclosing, I have asked my dealer for info and called NNA but no response

Oooo! I'm excited to see the dyno result. Do you have any dyno result from before the motor swap?

I never got around to doing a dyno before the motor swap, contemplated it but didnt get a chance. I have AAM Spacer, Jim Wolf popcharger, Megan Y pipe and Magnaflow exhaust system. These are mods most people run so I figure it would be easy to get a ball park figure.

I am willing to take it somewhere to have it dynoed. I was also told that there was no "Break" in period with this motor ???? WTF??? I am taking it easy for the 1st 500 miles not going past 4RPMs but still driving with a bit o ***** haha

Just got off the phone with Dave at Function Tuned and he says that I should be able to Dyno it, that the whole "break in" period is not totally accurate. Looks like I got something to look forward to next weekend!
He did mention that some of these motors turn out to be a bit stronger so
we will see

I was more or less wanting to see if any local people have the v2 and seen a difference in performance.

I just had my engine replaced with the V2 last week and I am doing the full
1K mile break-in, I know, I know overkill, but better safe then sorry. I have noticed a considerably better idle then the original engine. Oh and Norris West Nissan replaced my Cats under warranty as well due to excessive carbon build-up.

^^ Hmm interesting, do you notice any difference at all in acceleration?
I dont think they replaced anything else aside from the engine. I am going to let it run till 500 miles and then after that pretty much start pushin the rpms a bit further

Ewww Norris West. I'm glad that you had good experience there. I sure didn't!

I haven't really gotten into it yet, only at the 800 mile mark. Norris West was considerably better then dealing with Russel Subaru (w/ my 02 WRX) and Fox mitsubishi (wifes 03 evo). They actually listened to what i had to say.

Maybe it runs better because it's not burning oil (which takes away from hpr by lowering effective octane rating of the gas).

I have heard a couple of different strategies to break in a motor... The traditional, Baby it for 1000 miles and the let it warm up, then beat the **** out of it (constantly taching it up), which saposidly helps the rings to seat properly.

lol Iam gonna let it get to 500 miles then proceed with @ss whoopin of motor. Again the dealer stated that there is no "Break in" period so whats to say if anything happens that they can't be held liable

Any updates to this MasterRacer? I'm having the v2 put in currently and would like to know how the engine has been performing. Did you ever have it dyno'd?

Sorry for bumping an old post but I'd appreciate a follow up.
