Ok....Ill jump in.

1)Fireboy...lets see some numbers and graphs. I believe they were posted in the FI section (even here temporarily) but there were may questions left unanswered about your set-up and tune.

2) Lets see what happens in the upcoming months and how happy you are there.

3) How many miles and dyno runs do u have on your set-up?

4) How many aftermarket FI set-ups have you done?

5) Are you past your "boost break-in" period? lol

I don't even get PM's from them anymore. I've been around for years and seen and heard the horror stories from multiple different platforms.

FYI, the guys who built your set-up are MUCH more reputable than the one who tuned it. But you would know that from all the research you did.

How was the boat ride?

The post about the break in was for PunisherZ.

this guy has seemed to change his tune (who you wrote this to).

3.91 gearset? You mean rear final drive? I hope you're not putting in a 3.9 pumpkin and expecting longer gears, the way you wrote that it seems unclear. What are you doing for fuel?

Hey Brian,

Have you purchased the APS Extreme Kit yet? If not, go with the GReddy 20G tuner kit like we discussed. Plenty of power - You wont be sorry.

LOL.. Talk about out of the wastelands on this thread.

Way to go on the revive. I am amazed at the drama around the Mid-A. Totally surprised this thread didn't get locked or shut down completely.

Since there is noway i am spending all day catching up can someone provide an accurate analysis of the events that transpired to lead to this point?

My plan was to pickup a 350z 3.3 vLSD pumpkin and put in a 3.91 gearset. That's the way I understood it from Frank, anyway. I'm not pulling any triggers until I fully understand the steps. But yes, the goal is to extend out all gears since I'll be running mega-boost and getting through those gears more quickly. Is my understanding way off? Also, what do you guys think of transplanting a G35x AWD drivetrain into my G?

As for fuel, the reason I'm going with the APS TT Extreme kit is because it includes everything I need for the fuel system upgrades. The Greddy 20G does not so it'd cost me at least $1000 more in the end.

APS TT Extreme comes with:
-880cc injectors
-Full twin fuel rail system with dual fuel regulators
-In-tank dual-fuel pump

Those three upgrades above (not in the Greddy kit) would cost me around $2000. And from what I've heard the APS TT kit will make nice, smooth, full-band power (especially with those BC S3 camshafts) when coupled with the Haltech platinum EMS, and Dave's tuning, of course!

Do you guys think the APS TT Extreme will max out compared to the Greddy?

My goals are:
-"Daily driveability" with boost turned down to generate 400-450whp
-When feeling saucy, unleash more boost to get 600+whp

I'm building the motor for 800-1000whp, so I'd like the ability for my kit to go above and beyond 600whp if possible some day. But for now, I'm kind of in "overbuilding" mode so I can run with boost and limit the risk to my investment.

For longer gears you would run a 3.3FD

6MT stock is 3.5

The NA guys put in 3.7, 3.9 and 4.0 FD's making gearing shorter

The 3.3FD is an auto pumpkin

Unless your running AT LEAST 500whp, using the 3.3FDF will slow you down and feel slow

Well I would assume 2 TD06-20G's could net you 1000WHP if tuned properly I am not sure if the Greddy kit comes with TD05's though.

EDIT: The greddy kit comes with 2 TD06SH-20G, with enough fuel and boost I don't see why not.

20G's havent been pushed to max on this platform from what Ive seen

18G's are right around the 680-720whp mark depending on cams/dyno You wont see anywhere near 1000whp with say a 20G Greddy tuner kit.

The OP is running the APS extreme

DEFI Blue Racer Gauges here..

Umm, hey wouldn't you need something worth monitoring before replacing gauges and link?

Thanks for the input. I recall Frank told me the 350z automatic 3.3 vLSD is not a limited-slip diff and that I'd have to put one in. And are you saying that the 3.3 will extend my gears but I'd have to keep boost levels high enough to push out 500whp? What's the physics behind that? Seems to me that since I'm pulling my gears out further, I'm not going through them as quickly, and that provides the perception that I'm not going as fast?

So I guess now I'm thoroughly confused.

Looks like I'm going to do plenty of research on this over the coming months. It probably wouldn't happen until later this year so no rush.

Anyone know what the APS TT kit will do with all the right supporting mods? I know the 20G kit is a beast, but I figured I could save at least $1000 bucks by going with the more fully equipped APS Extreme kit. With its 3.5" downpipes and rather large turbos, I thought it sounded like it'd push out some serious power, right up there with the Greddy.

I've read that it's capable of 800whp and up applications...
