The tree huggers may be crying but the fact is that the US govt. is the one doing the regulation.

The middle east certainly doesn't need our help since they have purchased more than 50% of the US deficit

I don't know how "tight" you guys are with your money, but I have just adjusted my budget to offset the price. Over the past couple of months, I have noticed about $40-50 extra a month for gas....certainly not enough to have a "the sky is falling" moment. It's really not that bad. If you can't swing an extra $40-50 per month for gas, then re-arrange your budget. Stop eating out, bring your lunch to work...cut down on drinking and going out "partying." Those are the little things that I did to help defray the costs and I'm doing just fine.

Budget your money and you'll do fine. There's no need to travel farther to a gas station just because it's maybe 2-5 cents cheaper. Saving $2-3 total on a tank of gas is not really saving a lot of money...LOL

I can't remember exactly how much it was in college park yesterday, but I think it was around 3.90 or something.

edit: At some point, we might as well run race gas. Wasn't that somewhere in the $4.50 range?

These gas prices are insane! I took a road trip up to Rochester this weekend and I just had to fill up last night @ Mobil and I had to drop 3.99 a gallon. I was like WTF!!!

My car is a DD but, I live like 3 miles from work so, it is not really an issue for me. Would I like them lower? Yes. I think that alot of people (not necessarily people on here but, in general) need to modify their driving style if they want to increase their fuel economy. There is no need to pass someone to get to a stoplight quicker....etc...etc...

the only problem is that some people won't be able to afford to just change their driving habits. The independent truckers are making next to no profits, and people that are making mininum wage where their checks are already 200 a week are going to be spending 40 a week for gas. things aren't looking good

Not Mid-A, but try $4.89 in Connecticut.
