Yeah....so I stop to get gas tonight at my normal Shell in Leesburg...and i got a nice little shock!
Anybody can beat this...so i know what areas to avoid! Right now my advice is avoid getting gas in leesburg at all cost, i can't see the other major stations being much less!

yeah my last fill up which was right before I met up with everyone @ HIN was $3.60!
I go to this Shell all the time and last time I was here it was 3.67, but damn 3.92 in less than a week, thats kinda steep!

Its simple:
Higher crude oil prices based on market speculations= Higher prices at the pump for consumers= Higher profits for oil giants.
It will be at $4+ before you realize it.

The US has more oil than the middle east but the government regulates how much we can refine. Next, more than 50% of the US deficit is controlled by the middle east, go figure right.

It's because yesterday, the purchase of oil became 119$ per barrel. Highest ever, breaking the already broken record. It will keep going up, when the dollar falls in value, everything does. Food prices have gone up aswell due to it.

I actually looked at the local bus schedule yesterday, and will be using mass transit for at least 2 days a week.
I start to get upset about the ever escalating price of gas and how it costs over $60 to fill the Z up, but then I realize that weening everyone off of gas might actually be beneficial for us b/c newer innovations will eventually start being developed that might hopefully break us away from the crude addiction. Then we can stop fighting silly conflicts in places like Trashcanistan and Irack.

I go to a Shell on Lee Highway near Centreville (corner of Lee and Union Mill). On the weekends, they cut $.10 off V-Power so I go there every Sunday regardless of how much gas I have left (last weekend, it was $3.67).
Gas prices are only ridiculous because people complain but refuse to change their habits. It's simple math, high demand+limited supply of a commodity dredged most from politically unstable areas=high prices. If people would cut usage by a measly 5% for just one day, I GUARANTEE that there would be at least a $.10 decrease the next day.

Thats whats ****ed up though, its not a limited commodity. There hasn't been any cut backs in the number of barrels refined.
And under the Dakotas there is more oil than in the middle east. But regulations keep drilling from happening.
How ****ed up is that?
