Default Looking for a German Shepherd

Does any one know where I can look (beside my local news paper) for German Shepher pups in the Mid-A region?

Rescue one.

www.petfinder.com
You can search in your area for one.

I have rescued two. Sophie is a German Shepherd Dog/Australian Shepherd mix and Ranger is my pure bred German Shepherd Dog.

Ranger:

Sophie:

Check out the Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Dog Rescue (Laurel, MD). They have a page on Petfinder.com too.

Little Buddy is a sweet, shy guy who was emaciated, heartworm positive, and had been hit by a car when he was found as a stray. A german shepherd dog mix, this little guy has been very appreciative just to be indoors and receive good food to eat! He has been revealing his happy, excitable personality a little more each day. Little Buddy is looking for a forever home with an owner who he can form a trusting relationship with, who will be patient and supportive as he overcomes his understandable fear of traffic, loud noises, and other “surprsises”. A constant tail wagger, he loves to give “sneak attack” kisses when you are not looking! Little Buddy loves other dogs and is very comfortable following their lead to become more confident in new situations. This silly but polite little dog would love to meet you and be your little buddy!

Thanks but looking for a pure bread puppies. I'm willing to pay. It would be great if I can find a white one but I will take any color though.

Well that didn't work. The last one was gone before I even got the chance to set up an appointment to see it today. From the sounds of the guy, it looked to be a said and done deal. I guess I was wrong.

I keep looking in petfinder.com but no pure bread puppies there. Any other places?

Sorry don't mean to intrude on the Mid-A forums but shepherds are great dogs. Here is mine when he was about 10 weeks old. he is now about 18 months and about 125lbs. He is a monster, one of the biggest shepherds I have seen (His father is a little bigger).

^awesome dog

Well I talk to the guy that I was supposed to get the pup from. He was telling the female was sold because he wanted to keep her. He contacted me today and told us that we can come by and pick her up. I'm busy today doing some stuff around the house so I will go there tomorrow go get her.

+1 call the local ones first, they are rare to find in shelters though. Only go o a breeder if you want a show dog. German shepards dont have a high number of gentics defects so even a shelter dog is usally fine (yes i know about hip problems but its rare)
