F-you Irs
most people will be surprised to get alot less then they were told.
basically low to low/middle class are only getting $300 not $600... i think its something like over $55,000 you get the $600...
and i guess the upper class get nothing.. cause like stated above.. if you make 155k + what is 600 gonna do? maybe a month payment on your Mercedes.

It appears there is no cap, BUT if you make $87,000+ the prorating stops (5% of $12,000 = $600 = no rebate).
To be eligible for a stimulus payment, taxpayers must have valid Social Security numbers. Anyone who does not have a valid Social Security number, including those who file using an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), an Adoption Taxpayer Identification Number (ATIN) or any other identification number issued by the IRS is not eligible for this payment.
Both individuals listed on a married filing jointly return must have valid Social Security numbers to qualify for a stimulus payment.
Eligibility for the stimulus payment is subject to maximum income limits. The payment, including the basic amount and the amount for qualifying children, will be reduced by 5 percent of the amount of income in excess of $75,000 for individuals and $150,000 for those with a Married Filing Jointly filing status.
Individuals who pay no tax and who have less than $3,000 of qualifying income will not be eligible for the stimulus payment.

Just be glad your parents are paying for college. A lot of us are still paying for our student loans.

Yeah, as other people have stated, I wouldn't complain about a $600 check if you aren't paying for school... I work full-time, and go to school full-time... and that $600 is probably only going to cover 1/8 of my tuition+fees+books for the local university I go to... plus I have rent, car note+ins, plus utility bills to pay for... yeah, if I were in your shoes... I'd actually rather be you... than have all these bills.

Sounds to me like you should be driving something a lil cheaper then a Z untill you get out of school then, since all these bills are spreading you so thin.
I bought my Z used... but I still love it.. my maintenance for the z is actually cheaper than my eclipse (POS always broke down..) so yeah, I prefer my Z than anything I had before..
yeah yeah yeah i know, well the thing is if from the start they told me "you get nothing" i would of been eh that sucks, but now they say it 10 days before! that sucks! yeah i am thankful i don't have student loans (parents always said best thing they can do for us is put us into the world with no debt) but a little money would have been nice!

i hope you're right!!! When I use the calculator on the IRS site, as a self employed individual grossing VERY MUCH under 75,000 it still says I get $300.
whatever.. I'll be happy with anything i suppose... it's just gonna go back to my outrageous property/school taxes.... and I'm single with no kids! what's fair about that?!!
I think the money they were going to give as a "stimulus" for the economy is just an return money for 08 taxes in advance.
If they give you $600 now from the taxes, the next time you do them you will have $600 less in return (talked to my accountant and confirmed this).
So, what is the big deal? They are just lending you money like they did some years ago!!
