Default Looking to Ocean City, MD for vacation...

Whats up guys? Me and my girl were looking to come down to Ocean City, MD for a long weekend in august. So i figured i would ask you guys for some input. My girl and I are both in our 20s and just looking to chill out during the day on the beach, and then go out for dinner at night and hang out. Is there like a main strip where there are restaurants, hotels and maybe some nightlife? I guess where all the tourists go, LoL.

Phillips sucks

Go to ***ers Island http://www.***ers.com/ IMO the best restaurant in ocean city, make a point to go late like 8-9, once you're done with your meal, walk over to the bar/club, then you wont have to pay a cover charge.

"edit" can't see what I typed lol, f a g e r s i s l a n d

Another good place for food, not as good as ***ers but damn good is Reflections http://www.ocmdhotels.com/reflections/

As far as where to stay, I like staying at either the Holiday Inn where reflections is. http://www.ocmdhotels.com/holidayinn/

or Quality Inn http://www.ocmdhotels.com/qioceanfront/

Holiday Inn has a better outdoor pool and a nice beach setup, however, Quality Inn has a really nice inside with fish and birds.

If parking is an issue you can't go wrong with the Carousel http://www.carouselhotel.com/ It has a parking garage. One of the few in Ocean City.

You can get a hotel down on the boardwalk but if you're going with your girl, keep in mind its loud and busy, more of the places tend to be trashy since most people who are there go down that way to get trashed day in and day and its just really busy all the time. If you want a nice get away with the lady, stay away from there, other then making a few hour trip to walk it and play video games.

BTW wheres the pictures of your gf?

Thanks for the info man, i appreciate it. This was the kind of info i was looking for. I wasn't sure where i should stay because i heard the boardwalk gets loud and busy. I'll check out some hotels a little ways off. And as requested...

Me and her...

F-a-g-e-r-s Island and seacrets are probally the two best spots in OC. The times of the year I venture up, its typically a sh*t show, lots of young under age broads, mass drunkeness, police, street racing. Its like High School all over again. Drunk Bus FTW!!! If you want to be smack dab in the middle of the chaos, get a hotel down on the boardwalk. I kinda like to keep away from all that and stay on the other side of OC. You get the best of both worlds, you can take the bus on down to the boardwalk, then retire to a nice clean quiet hotel later on. Besides riding that bus is fun as hell, thats a great way to meet chicks and figure out whos throwin down on the beach.

For the less trashy, young professional/college weekend getaway party scene, you gotta do up dewey beach, which is just up the coast from OC. There are a couple good spots up that way Rusty Rudder, bottle & cork, and starboard. My last trip up that way was a train wreck -- I should post pics.

This is more of what im looking to do. Im not looking to pick up drunken college chicks, just enjoy the beach during the day, and have some dinner and hang out at night at a bar type atmosphere.

My parents went to OC like 2 years ago and they stayed in an area with a restaurant called "Sneaky Pete's". Anyone one know what area of OC that is?
Looking to stay away from the younger h.s. crowd and staying in a more mature area with my girl, but still looking to have a good time. LoL

And post up some pics... everyone always enjoys some pics

Let me give you a sterotypical run down of all the beaches bunched up together on the intercoatal highway.

OC: I always have fun, but its a more trashy and wild atmosphere (I guess most beach towns are that way). There are lots of people, and lots of things to do.

Dewey: Lots of under 30 year olds rolling around Dewey who are taking a break from the work week. I have alot of friends that are my age (26), that will do summer weekend getaways with a group of friends to relax and party.

Bethany: The older, more more mature, country club crowd has homes in Bethany, which is where the more expensive real estate is.

Rehoboth: Then there is of course rehoboth which has the stigma as being the "gay" beach, but it really is a nice quiet family beach. I used to go there when I was a kid

Here are some pics from last time I stayed in Bethany with a few of my boys and a bunch of girls -- I was the designated camera man. We would hit the bars, then come back late night to the house and party it up with who ever we met out in Dewey. I think there are some crazy stories to go with most of these pics...

Ordering yeger bombs at Starboard:

My buddy Bob at Work, mind you this is a little after noon:

The group of chicks that stayed with us at Rusty Rudder:

That's what happens when you loose at Beer Pong (I'm in the Dark Blue Diadora Soccer shirt):

I think I'd get thrown off the forum if I showed any more chaos, fun trip

I've had some good times with my GF in OC, the key is NOT hanging out at the board walk, if you go there, make sure you go from 9-11, if you hang out at the beach, make sure its at 30th street or higher.

Again board walk is where all the kids go and stay.

OC is only as trashy as you make it, if you make a point to hang out at the board walk late at night, welp guess what....

Stay up north on the streets and you'll be fine.

This looks like the place where i would stay. Not looking to get arrested and hanging out with h.s. kids.

I will def keep this in mind. In relation to OC, is Dewey more north? It sounds like i'll prob get a room in one of the hotels in Dewey and hang out in that area for the weekend.
