I haven't been fishing in yearssss

 

yeah i caught 4 sail fish in one day and several other fish, i had the boat to my self

 

hey ty i see you get into the trout up in NY you ever got out on ontario and went for king salmon me and my dad have a boat up there docked in lewiston all year and go up all the time

 

I usually stay in the streams. Got a couple friends that boat on Erie, usually for Walleye and Steelhead. There are alot more Salmon in Ontario than Erie. The biggest Salmon I got weight in at 30 lbs. My poor fly rod was about useless.

 

Sounds great...I hope to take a trip like that one day. Probably after the kids grow up and move out.

 

Nice! excellent thread, I will try to get some Bass today from my new spot.

Harford Glen, trail #5 just passed atkinson dam (on the US military side shhh don't tell) been averaging some nice Bass 2 - 4.5 Lbs so far. There are also some enourmous carp (trash fish) but I try to keep away from those.

Do you use any wading shoes?

I pried open my squeaky wallet this year and got a set of Simms wading shoes with the "sticky rubber" soles (about $170) and they are worth every penny. Even when it's cold and icy, it's like walking on dry ground.

 

Yeah we use felt bottom wading shoes. They get great traction but sometimes it's hard to avoid a tumble when your walking through areas with a lot of under water shrubs that hide what's really at the bottom.

We also don't stay in the same place very long, we do a lot of walking up and down the river.

 

I used to live by the felt soles...never again. Sticky rubber for me

Falling in is part of fishing...sometimes.

have you guys ever been out west fly fishing, if you havent you dont know what your missing.. i have been out there several times... tons of fun

 

Just like the Sail Fish trip it is on my to do before I die list.

 

I still want to go deep sea fishing.. We should get a bunch of people together and charter a boat for the day

That's a pretty decent rate for offshore (Marlin, Tuna, Mahi, Wahoo) on a 48 Foot Ocean Yacht.

I'm interested, just depends on the date.
