NOVA and Richmond caravan to the March 15th Hampton/Yorktown meet...
You read the thread.... This a VERY nice meet. I think I have attended the last 2 or maybe even 3 years in a row. Lets get some NOVA support?
The Southern VA guys/glas have a lot of class and this cruise is deffinately one to join in on. Plus who does like HOOTERS for a Happy Ending? Driving along the Board Walk near the water is something we dont have or do up here in NOVA. why...
I know its a hike, but its well worth it, but they drive up here for our Skyline Drives, so its time to show some love back! If you dont drive like a bat, which I will not be doing this cruise because I am hosting the cruise down, then the gas isnt that bad either, plus gas is cheap now.
If I get three or more that want to roll, then I will stay up here and then drive down, if none of you clowns want to meet up and go, I will go to Richmond (inlaws) that Friday, stay the weekend, and roll from there with the Richmond crew.
Meet Springfield Mall early to avoid traffic.... (time TBA)
Grab the Richmond guys off of I295 (exit TBA), then continue to Hampton Roads, Patrick Henry Mall.

place and time TBA, but early... if we are to eat lunch at the end of the cruise which will be around 130pm, then we need to leave the Richmond area around 930...so the NOVA crew will be leaving around 730am...
There are folks coming up from SC to make this cruise, why are the NOVA folks not going to this? I dont get it.
this is a very nice and scenic cruise along the water....

Make sure you have gas prior to meet spot....you will have to catch up, this train leaves on time this time...
OK lets get some plans established...
It takes about 1.45min to get from DC to Richmond. It takes about 35-45mins to get from Richmond to Newport News. So, if we are to be in Newport News by 1030am then we need to be leaving the Richmond area by 930am. Finally we need to leave the DC area at 730am at the latest. (please correct me if my math and timing is wrong?)
so
Springfield Mall, Springfield VA at:
720am leaving no later than 730am (if you are late, sorry...you will have to catch up because I aint waiting...(but I wont be speeding so catching me should be easy..5mph over the entire way down) Im always late because of other people...not this time...go to bed early make preparations for a nice early cruise...go get your starbucks donuts whatever....but do it before 730...because im rolling down I95S at 731am....lol
Meet the Richmond folks at the rest stop off of I295 and I64. I believe this to be a new rest stop. I am not sure the exit. The only other exit I am positive about is the Ashland exit which is where I95 and I295 meet. I think the I64 rest stop will be the best place, unless the Richmond folks know of something better. (we are open to ideas).
If all goes well the NOVA crew will be at that rest stop at or around 930, that gives us two hours to get there and 30 minutes to meet every and relax from the long haul before the cruise. (2hrs should be plenty of time). Then we promptly roll out at 930am from the rest stop which give us an hour to get to newport news. Is that enough time? I cant recall exactly how long it takes to get there from Richmond, but I remember an hour at aleast.
What do you all think? Please provide some input. PM for cell number.

35-45 minutes from Richmond to Newport News?
It's at least an hour. I make this trip bi-weekly and it ALWAYS takes me 75 minutes coming from Midlothian.
But if you leave Richmond like you say, at 9:30 AM, you should get to the Starbucks on Jefferson Avenue right around 10:30 AM if you're doing 5 over the limit on 64 east.
EDIT: Also, you can put me down as a maybe...it depends on what time I get back in town from N.C. on Saturday night.
EDIT2: Put me down as a definite. Now...gotta google map that rest stop and find out where it is.
