Default engine belt cracks

I took my car in for an oil change and the mechanic found one of the belts has cracks. He said it needs to be changed but still good for couple of thousand miles. Should i be worried about this and get replaced asap? i have an 06 w/ 35k miles

I just got my oil changed and when they looked in there My AC Belt was down to 1 rib and my main belt was in worse shape than yours, I had them both replaced and I can actually feel the difference, just get them changed if you can. The AC blows like new as well now.

Mine have been like that for awhile, I always forget they need to be replaced. But I haven't had any problems so far...

I believe the smaller one is the AC Belt, Ill have to take pictures of what mine looked like... but obviously, you would not have any air conditioning at all if the belt broke. Not a good idea with summer around the corner. Also if the belt is just tearing and you do have the ac on, it could whip around and smack other stuff in there Im sure. Also not ideal, lol.
