Default Where to get rear hatch struts around here?

Where can I get some rear hatch struts for my 2003 base Z around here besides a Nissan dealer? Also the Z R 1 guy that everyone mentions on here is sold out of the heavy duty struts for the Z. Damn hatch came down on my head when I was loading golf clubs and almost knocked me out. Why is that hatch so heavy? Thanks

Z1 will be receiving more this weekend, so I think you should be able to place an order and have it shipped out early next week.

Its heavy because of the lead weight they put in it.... AKA the wiper motor.

I refused to purchase the struts from Z1! Why? jtabraham was the one designed it and Z1 bought the design over. jtabraham used to charge about $8X per set and I was being a cheap @ss and didn't want to buy a set. Then Z1 started to charge like $120 a set! With the demand the price is at something like $18X? Hellz no I'm not paying for that! I'm PM'ing jtabraham to see if I can DIY a set for myself!

The previous set I sold a few years ago, didn't come with the hardware, so you would either have to cut the existing springs off very carefully (OEM Springs are not removable), or you would have to purchase the hardware separately from a dealer. This is where the added cost comes from as the sets Z1 sells include everything to make this a truly simple bolt-on install.

Still beats the Nismo springs that go for $300+ at the dealer!

Yo, I have a set of stock hatch struts for $35.00. If you want them let me know. They are Function Tuned. I went with the ones that work well with my CF Hatch.
