Default AnyoneMid-A help!....Anyone know any service or sales managers up at Tischer BMW?

Alright guys....need some help if anyone knows anyone up there. Some friends of mine came down for a visit for Hyperfest and well.....we broke the E92 M3...as you can see below....Ooops.

Yes....that would be pieces of the differential...

This actually happened the day after (on Sunday) and we were headed over to Five Guys for some burgers.

We took the stickers from the HPDE off of it before BMW roadside came but it is a slightly modded vehicle and would like to make sure we don't get hassled since really the part that broke (REALLY broke) was not really related to modifications....

If anyone knows anyone and would like to "refer me" to them it would be greatly appreciated.

Alberto....you would appreciate the carnage. lol

Unfortunately.... as we all know ....dealers will sometimes make ANY excuse not to warranty a car with ANY type of modifications to it. We're just trying to cover all the bases so there aren't any issues. Just better safe than sorry since the owner and home for the car is in New Jersey. It shouldn't have broken especially given the beefiness of it after we inspected it. Trucks don't even have bearings that big.

We're thinking there must have been stress cracks given how the front and rear covers sheered.

Here's what my friend said. Robbie let me know what you want to do. Or I can hook you guys up so you can talk directly.

I knwo the sales staff at Tischer but not that close with service..

any reason why you say Tischer?

I know a tech at Arlington BMW taht i can talk to off the record and he can probably take care of it. Tischer I cannot guarantee. I used to take my car to Towson BMW so i know a cool service advisor there too.. but i haven't talked to him in years.

My best bet would be with the guy i know at Arlington BMW. Plus, he does work on the side too!

More update...

But tell your friend that if he talks to my buddy at arlington, i'm sure he can make sure it's done.. (he's young and he is my friend's bro). Tell him I sent you.

my buddy at Arlington BMW is:
Jonathan Villarroel
703.967.3673
Brotechs@yahoo.com
My friend's name is Peter ****. So I guess just call and say you're sent by Peter ****.

Hope this helps!

Well.....here's an update....despite having known the GM and service manager they are not sure they will be able to warranty it.

I just got back from up there b/c they're convinced we hit something with it to cause that amount of damage. Really?....Come on man....Im an honest person....and you know me....if we hit something I'd tell you and be asking for your help with it. But we didn't. We had it brought up here b/c the owner lives in NJ, it has minor modifications and didn't want to deal with a typical dealer giving us BS excuses on how the big brake kit caused the differential to break.

The conversation pretty much consisted of me showing them the video of where it broke and us towing it back in with the differential dragging on the ground (sound included, lol) and trying to explain EXACTLY how it happened.

Here'e part of the conversation after they saw the video and they took me back to see the parts...and when I start loosing faith in the cause....icon14:

Them: "Whats the number on the car and why is it muddy?"

Me: "The number is from the owner taking driver education classes at summit and so is the mud."

Them: "well isn't summit a paved track?"

Me:"Are you serious?"..."yeah it is but have you been there?"..."You do realize there is no "parking lot" unless you're in the pit area (which we were not) and it was raining Saturday"

Them: "Oh"..."Well our concern are also these dents on the exhaust piping where you hit something...but we don't see any concrete or anything.. and we don't know what it's from."

Me: "Thats because you're looking at the top of the exhaust and thats the indentations from where the differential fell on it and where we propped it up so it could get on the flatbed"
"You would see the impact on the BOTTOM of the exhaust if it hit something..."

To sum things up....

A regional technical rep has been dispatched (obviously this isn't a frequent event for such a new high performance vehicle) to inspect the parts. Basically...the dealer won't even make the decision. The rep will look and get "what happened" and what "they see" from them and make the decision whether BMW would pay the dealer for the warranty work,

Things aren't looking so good for the warranty claim...but we'll see.

And for the record...Im ok with someone saying you did X and that is why it broke and not covered....thats fine...just don't try and stretch things to point at what "may have" caused it.

Yes my girlfriend is getting one of the new units right across the street that you guys were turning into. You will see my Z a lot out there. I have DC tags and am PPW with a black roof and other cosmetic mods so you can't miss me. If you live over there we have to meet up sometime. I'll pm you my number.
