mounting front license plate
Just got a written warning from the police about not having my license plate mounted. I was wondering if anyone knows where i can go to get this done but also so it doesnt completley ruin the look of the doluck front bumper. I could do it myself but want it to look proffessional like maybe imbeded in the side of the bumper. I saw a few at the function tuned meet that have what im talking about done to their z so if any of u can help please respond.
try mounting it behind the support beam. There should be a hole in the middle where you can screw a really big screw in.
Otherwise, leave it off. License plates look ugly on do-luck bumpers. Just tell the cop that "i have an appointment with the dealership to have a custom made bracket for this bumper since it's aftermarket and I just got it painted, don't worry, it's getting handled." And they'll let you go every single time.
I got like 5 pre-made excuses everytime this happens to me, you just got to make it sound like you're already fixing it and they'll never really bother you.

thanks, the paint needs to be matched better, a new set of rims with a nice offset and maybe just lowered a bit more then finish up with some spacers and i'll be content. I was honestly thinking the same thing about how much nicer urs looks than mine right now... it upset me a tiny bit. Compliments to a sweet ride though.

Zee bracket needs something to bolt into, that means drilling out his bumper or mounting it to something behind the bumper cover.
I plan on making a custom bracket for my Z since I have a JP front end.
The idea is to make a L bracket made from square tubing, mounting it to the rad support and cutting the tubing so it stops a few inches before the front of the bumper cover, I want it short enough so you cant see it at any normal viewing angle, from there I want to make a flat plate for my tag to bolt to and run a piece of slightly smaller or bigger square tubbing off the plate, the idea is to slide one into the other and have a clip or a spring release (think buttons on camera tripods) that makes for a quick release.
Install tag when driving, as soon as you pull up anywhere for a car show or meet, reach down, push in the button or remove the pin and remove the tag leaving nothing behind to be seen.
I planned on doing it sometime last year, at the rate I'm going I'll have it done maybe 2011.
