Oil Consumption Test.
Just got back from Tyson's nissan. The tech checked for the second time that the oil was 2Q down after 1500miles. Service manager is going to give nissan a call and get the approval to get a new engine. Hopefully I'll get the good news on monday.
The new motor part number I should be looking for is 10102-AC7MZ right?

Nissan is famous for putting flags in the system, so if you take the exhaust off and go back, they will see in your service records that it was on at one point and most likely contimue to deny your claim .
From my understanding, the info is shared between shops on a nationwide system.

wow, what year are these engines that consume oil? Mine doesn't have a single problem. 03 with 74k miles. The most oil i lose in a month is a few teaspoons out of my catch can.
how do test pipes make the car run too rich? wouldn't it lean the mixture up because of the increased exhaust flow? my car went lean when i added test pipes.
Also, adding more fuel wouldn't burn up rings. It would actually cool the cylinders better for reduced wear. That is to an extint. Once you get super rich then it will screw other things up.

Damn sucks to hear this, I got rid of my Z for this exact same reason. Oil consumption, stupid crazy on my 06 manual z. Engine was repalced only AFTER a nice case was opened with BBB. They contacted Nissan and a week or so later new engine which made the issue worse and then my transmission kept grinding gears. 2 years of headaches, one can only take so much drama from a friggin car.
