Anyone in the Mid-A goign to ZdayZ 2010?
I just noticed the ZDayZ 2009 article in the Modified Mag. For those that have gone before - are we allowed to speed and perform maneuvers on the tail of the dragon (kinda like AutoX'ing)? Or is it just a cruise through the woods?
I was there this year for the first time and it was awesome. Nick and I left early Wend morning and got there in the afternoon. Its a very nice drive and a good time for sure. You stay at a place called Fontana Village which is full of cabins and for the 4 day event it is full of 350Z, G, 300ZX and other Nissan vehicles. They also have events that go on like poker runs, crusies, car show and other activities when your not drinking and hung over. lol
This is a photo that they took at the base of the damn.

There are many cars missing from that pic, but should give you an idea on how many cars and people show up.
You drive at your own risk, (which includes tail of the dragon) there were a few deaths while we were there and many accidents. They do rent out an air field and do top speed runs.
Also all the money that they make from this event goes to charity. (I can't think of whcih one it is)
The dates for next year are May 20 - 23, 2010
More info can be found on thier web site.

Didn't know about the topspeed run. Is that included in your ticket, or is that a local event that's seperate from ZdayZ?
I'd assume a helmet is needed for that. <-----Doesn't have a helmet yet
The airstrip is a separate event and is a ways away from the resort ~1.5-2 hours away I think. You also need to show up a day or two early for it. Rumor has it that Sharif may be planning something to make it slightly more baller this year. Yes, helmet is the only requirement IIRC.
