I use this one. I have had it for 4 years now, and I am ready to upgrade to a full face helmet.

Probably this one lol

the bell racer series is great. i use the M4, not too pricey, looks good, and is comfortable, and easy to put on/take off. the comfort thing so many mentioned...is kind of moot IMO. there is so much padding that it seems tough to not have a decent fit. i will say the M4 in size L was a little too big, but that was solved with a stand 21 nomex balaclava! more protection, more comfort, helmet liner stays cleaner, and it fits great now! i think anyone who road races should include a nomex balaclava with their helmet. it's cheap insurance for your most important asset!

(no one ever plans or hopes to crash at the track. things happen, you take a corner too fast, a tire blows on the front straight, some idiot bumps you in a high speed turn...)

Don't buy anything that's not SA2005 rated. Some clubs/events do not accept anything less. I noted you wear glasses. I do as well and have a Bell Sport helmet. I love Bell products and have used them for 30+ years on an off. THe Sport model was the cheapest full face Bell makes. This one is a little too small of an opening to easily put glasses on. If I had it to do over, I would go with something like the Bell M4, M4 Pro or BR1. Look for one that says at least a large opening if not extra large for your glasses. As far as prices go, Bell must regulate their prices because they are pretty much the same everywhere. As far as a local place where you could try them on, check out OG Racing http://www.ogracing.com/pages/Home. They have some great deals on blemished helmets and if you want to paint it, who cares. The other place I've found with good prices is Wine Country Motorsports in California. The other place the SCCA guys like is Safe Racer.com. They give SCCA members a discount. Any of these places should give free shipping on a helmet.

Seriously...dont waist money on one that is fireproof and all that if you are drift track perosn.

If you plan to road race (really road race like at summit, not autocross) then you will need the real deal like MrKaria posted.

but if auto cross here and there and an occasional drag track..buy a motocycle helmet and save 200 for track use.

if doing it big...go big or stay home as they say.
