FATT Track Day Event?
I just sent an e-mail to Mark Perkins from Summit Point Circuit about possibly scheduling a FATT event (see below for description)
"Friday at the Track (FATT) is an introduction to high speed driving. It is an instructional event where you can bring your street car out for a day at the track and enjoy going fast without the fear of red and blue lights in your rear-view mirror. For a whole lot less than the cost of a speeding ticket, you receive classroom instruction, skidpad instruction in our cars (including front and rear skid management), and four sessions of in car instruction in your own car. It is a chance to go fast and have fun in a safe environment."
It looks like their regular price is $250, we might be able to get a discount but that will depend on what he says back. Just wanted to see what the interest is before I get anything rolling with him.

scratch that I am NOT going
they now want 5 dollars a piece for us to come in as a group plus the 15 to enter the park. no way am I driving 2+ hours to pay 20$ to drive a road.
it is not worth it to me and that 5$ doesnt mean we are left alone it just means we arent kicked out
that and one of the organizers was rude and an *** to me soo that completely turned me off to the idea.
If you want to come to the car show in richmond that is where I will be instead

I wrote back just asking the organizer if the 200 waived the entrance fee and asking for clarification because the way it was worded I wasnt totally sure what all it included and I got back a very rude smartass response telling me all it did was make it so we are allowed in as a group soo I decided its not worth paying 20 bucks to drive on a rd that is windy through the mountains that I cant speed on.
I have enough roads liek that right here 5 min away. I was gonna do it for the cars since it would be nice to go to a diversified car meeting but if they are gonna be jackasses about the whole thing its not worth it.
ill go with the other Z guys to richmond instead

Im working out details for a end of season King dominions trip to BTW since that gathered the most interest. I want to make it near Halloween soo it will be all decorated and it will be a family meet
How many members here are members of SCCA? Their PDX (HPDE) on Oct 23/24 is only $150 for Sunday ($250 for Saturday). Just a thought........to go along with the track day idea. Only thing is....you must be a member of SCCA (I think a yearly membership is $60).
