Default Going to Dubai!

As the title states I'm lucky enough to be traveling to Dubai in mid July. The husband of my wife's teaching assistant works there and she invited us to join her when she goes to visit him. Airfare alone was $1700 per person but since we are getting free room and board and at his appartment on the Palm Island and a guide since his wife has lived there before, it makes the fare bearable. I cant wait for this one in a life time trip! Any recommendations? So far I've got:

Have lunch at the Burj Al Arab/The tower of Arabs/Sail shaped hotel (can only get in if you are a guest or have a reservation for a $108 "tea" lunch )

Desert Safari - dune bashing FTW

Burj Khalifa/world's tallest building - (Not afraid of heights but this might be testing it)

I wanted to go to Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi badly but the park doesn't open until OCT of this year . Maybe we can just go to the Yas Marina track for a tour.

Not interested in visiting their 5 star correctional facilities. I will stick to less risky behaviors on this trip.

I haven't been to the Emirates in awhile but from what I remember, its humid beyond belief.

Make sure you get the lamb shawarma from the street vendors.

Have fun!

Go to the indoor ski resort! I think there is suppose to be an amazing mall there too. I had a friend that went to Dubai and Abu Dhabi and she absolutely loved it. Have fun!

AGREED!! Believe it or not, until my first deployment stopped in Dubai, I had never been snowboarding. lol. It's an awesome time and it's inside the mall... Don't expect drinks to be any less than $12 each though, theys is some rich folk out there. The waterpark is a fun time too! I went sandboarding and cliffdiving while I was there (with some bajaing involved) and it was a blast!!

Have fun!

Probably want to get yourself a couple of dresses for the trip. Something casual for daytime. A bit more elegant for evening wear.

+1 lots of fun things to do here. Just get your cash ready. hehe.

give him a buzz. He'll make sure you won't make it back to the states alive.

no. just kidding. This nightcrawler_8 dude is a great guy. A real guy so don't worry.

How long are you going to be in Dubai gmueip?

You might want to try the Dubai Autodrome and/or the KartDrome.

Book yourself in one of the restaurants in Bab Al Shams. Preferably Al Hadeera where you can try some delicious arabic food while you watch the belly dancers and stuff. It's a hotel resort in the middle of the desert.

But better to get yourself ready for the heat 'cuz July is supposed to be the hottest month of the year here. 125deg f, high humidity, dehydration, heatstroke and **** like that. lol

I will be in Dubai for two weeks. The autodrome sounds like a must. I will try to look up that restaurant.

And I'm already prepping for the heat as I will be going to Panama at the end of the month.

Went there on deployment last year; spent a total of 19 days there...Its awsome...

Ferarri is building a race track themed roller coaster with F430 shells as the coaster cars. You should go snow boarding in the Mall of Emirates and the Lebonease place that over looks the inside mountain is really good....and if you pass that restaurant theres this simple, nice looking bar...they have absinthe.

The irish village is pretty sweet too....Im going back in September along with Istanbul, Greece, Tel Aviv, and Lebanon

Just tell your wife you used to be a Mormon before y'all got married, this way you can have 6 holes to poke and retire early.

The theme park opens in October so I will miss it They are also making another coaster that is supposed to be the fastest in the world with F1 derived coaster car shells. It's so fast that you will need googles to be able to survive the ride with your eyesight intact .

Nice trip itinerary btw.
