That's awesome Mike. It's fun to see other people drive your car to see where your skill level is at.

It sure is....weird watching your car racing from the sidelines though. I can't be too upset...I came in 5th out of cars on street tires (Mike was 3rd). The sti that is above me must have had a serious flying lap on his last run....he was in the 45-46 range all day....not sure where that 43 came from.

You plan on coming next week? It's a lot you are familiar with.

I am disappoint................the 350z registered. This is going to be my last auto-x on street tires . Movin' on up to R-comps. Hopefully have the car down another 100lbs and with the new shoes for the event at Frederick Keys Stadium in Frederick on Sept 11th.

Had a decent day today....probably about 80ish cars showed up....including a LARGE contingent of Subaru's. Was having easily my best run on my final pass, but the tires had too much heat in them at that point and it under-steered me almost off course. My car is set-up more towards oversteer......had this not happened I think I could have run in the 42.0-42.2 area, but was forced to keep my best clean run of 42.9......fail. Crappy part is even with me having to come an almost complete stop I still ran a 43.0.......may have been a 41.9 had I been able to keep the momentum. Still probably in the 15-17 area overall, but it could have been a top 10 had I not lost front grip. The star specs have served me well, but they are coming off this week to go to new owners. Stepping up to 285/30 R-comps all around from here on out . Sorry, I didn't record my best run, but I did get my fail run at the end....I may post it up later.

SATurday September 11th Autocross

CDC is back to Harry Grove Stadium, Frederick, MD on SATURDAY September 11th. We will also have a Test and Tune SUNDAY September 12th.

Registration and tech inspection will be at 8:00 and will promptly close at 8:45 to try to accommodate the full field, while still giving 6 runs. You must be DONE by 8:45. So if you arrive at 8:00 you won't have a problem. Don't arrive at the last minute.

The event fee for the Saturday autocross is $25 for members and $35 for non-members at this event.

SUNday September 12th Test and Tune Day

These Sunday Test and Tune Events will be held the day after the Saturday Harry Grove Stadium Autocrosses in Frederick , MD. The Test and Tune event will be an informal autocross using the same/similar course as the day before. The differences are the following:

Field is limited to 40 participants with about 5 organizers (for a total of 45 vehicles).
Times will be announced and recorded on the timesheet, but no results, no points, and no indexes will be posted –This is only for fun
No extra runs if we miss a time – This is only for fun
The format will be 2 heats with 5 morning and afternoon runs (number of runs in the afternoon will depend on time and weather conditions. We hope to give 9 to 11 runs).
No food or drinks will be provided – We need to keep the amount of equipment to a minimum. So plan on either bringing drinks and food or going out to lunch.
Event is open to members and their guests only, since the event is so limited in size.
The entry fee is $35 per member, $40 for non-members.

All 40 slots will be given on a first come, first serve basis.

Didn't have time to break out the heat gun and get rid of the sound deadner....also decided to keep the middle cubbie deal in to stay eligible for BSP in Cumberland. Seats are in and the wheels/tires are mounted though.

Also, just as an FYI. I got a message from one of the CDC members that the White Civic pictured above has WON the Solo National Championship in SMF. This is a big deal. It's extremely difficult to even get a podium out there in Omaha.

Not possible in a 350z. Evo 9's dominate BSP, but they just got bumped to ASP for next year. The class will be the sti's and solstices to lose. You have to have an insane budget, etc to really compete at that level. Most of those guys are on 5-8k buck penske, ast, or JRZ shocks. The turbo cars also have such an advantage because E85 is legal in street prepared. The evo 9's at the top level were making 400-420whp (at all 4 wheels) on a mustang dyno.....and they weighed about the same.

Bad news today.....the stainless clutch line failed....nursed it to the shop. Replaced line....all was good....went home. Got to the exit ramp and the clutch pedal has no pressure and there is a light tinny sound from the trans. Somehow even with rigorous testing at hills, test drive, and the all the shifts, etc getting to the highway with nothing wrong........the pivot ball (at least that is the initial though) broke.

I am going to take a total beating in points now.....only able to get 3/4 of the first run. Not sure if it will be working for cumberland next weekend, and the trans will have to be pulled, etc.

This saturday (Sept 25) CDC is in Bowie. I'll be there as usual, and turn out thus far looks impressive. Almost 80 cars have pre-registered. Some of the fast cobras are taking a pass this weekend. I am hoping to get into the top 10 on raw times for the 1st time. I've finished 11th and 12th overall this year so far.
