Anyone know a good tint removal shop? Windshield was tinted when I bought the car, and it's starting to look like poo in a couple small spots so I figured go ahead and get it off before it starts looking like poo in a couple large spots.

If you don't mind doing it yourself, there are some good videos on youtube that explain how to do it. I've never done it, but it doesn't look too hard.

There's a post in this thread that's a basic "How to" for removing tint on any automotive glass. I wrote it a few years ago but if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

 

I took tint off my dads car with goo gone, a razor, a rag and a heat gun. Not too bad...

 

I can't beleive you were looking to pay to get this done. Just start a with a corner and yank away. Then some brake clean on a towel should ge rid of the residue.

 

For beginners I'd recommend going to advanced auto or auto zone and buying the at home tint removal kit. Its just a razor blade and a special adhesive remover that works great. Just be careful with the blade around the top of the windshield. Hope this helps

 

I took some decals off my window today and it left some really nasty residue that I couldn't take off. A little bit of Windex and a razor blade took it right off though! I'm guessing it's the same kind of residue that tint leaves.

Make sure you don't use a razor on your rear window. Use a plastic scrub pad (like used in dishwashing).

 

not gonna take any off the rear, just the windshield.
