Can you tell me how the MD academy works? In SC its a state run academy so every officer in the state no matter the dep we all do the same academy.

 

Spoke to Howard Co, and they don't accept transfers from SC. Maybe ill try feds.

hey kevin, im going to my friend's graduation today! he is graduating from montgomery police academy, ill ask him how it is set up and ill let you know. I hope we can work something out where you can transfer to one of the depts here! It would be cool to have a new friend/member to our clan

 

even if they dont if your willing to go back through the academy each larger jurisdiction has its own academy. Most of the smaller ones only accept lateral transfers or they just work with a different county and use their academy.

Here in Anne Arundel county at least academy is only during day ( you dont live there) and you get paid your full salary. So as long as you are willing to go back through it its not too bad of a situation.
