Default Ideas on Tires...

Whats up guys!! Well it is that time again I need some new shoes!!!

I have never really been to tire savay so I thought id ask for some advice.

Im currently running TOYO TR1 Proxes 275/45/19 on the rear. To be honest I only really need the rear. Fronts are still real chunky!!

Anyway was thinking of going to 285's or 295's

Advice on brands etc....

thanks ladies and gents

max recommended tire width for a 10.5" rim is a 305/30/19. But a 295/30/19 will work as well, though I would lean toward more rubber for your power application.

I would suggest the Continental DW's w/ a fender roll and slight pull if needed (depending on offsets of rims of course) it won't break the bank and they're excellent summer tires with excellent life. I recommended these to Richard (username rich05051 or something like that) and he LOVED them. He use to run Toyo T1Rs and said he'll never buy those again after running the DW's.

Hankook RS3's if you plan on being on the competitive side on a budget. Very sticky, but low life.

Dunlop Direzza Star Specs, (this is what I personally run) but I'm not sure if they make a 295 or 305 size for the rears.

Michelin Pilot Sports PS2 if you're a big baller (which you are). You really can't go wrong w/ these tires. Let's just say there's a REASON why these are $400+ a pop!

RS3's largest size is 285/35/18. Star Specs largest is 275/25/18. I'd look into Bridgestone RE-11's.

tirerack.com, 1010tires.com, discounttiredirect.com, ebay.com, or call up Hill's Garage. I generally check 10+ websites for the best possible deal. Depending on what you want, certain sites offer cheaper prices than others by $10-20. Contrary to popular belief, tirerack doesn't always have the cheapest tires, but they do have the closest warehouse (Delaware).

P.S. I just checked the sizes available on Hankook RS3's and seems like they do come in a 305/30/19 from tirerack. ($464/per tire)

Another tire I forgot to mention was the Hankook Ventus V12. ($240/per tire) Obviously, this won't perform AS well compared to the ones listed above, but for the price it's a pretty awesome tire.

+1 I have RS3s for track ONLY and love em. They're correct, don't last long but act like R compound. Star specs are rated high by the autox folks along with RE11s.

Just placed my order for rs-3's along with 18x10.5's

I previously have had both tr1's and v12's and for both being rated the same the v12's blow the tr1's out the water. Like others have said allot depends on your goal, main use of car, and how long you want the tires to last.

I like my Hankook V12's. For the money I think you can't beat um.
