Default Buying a new 370z

So I am thinking about trading in my 350 for a 370 this month and I want to make sure it has the sport package. I am pretty intent on buying a used low mileage 2010 or something but nothing brand new. Anyone have dealer experience to know how to find this out? Is it possible to find out from the VIN? My experience with used car dealers is that they generally don't know all the features and extras. Also if anyone has any ideas for a reputable used car dealership I am open to recommendations.

Find a few cars you want online at cars.com or autotrader, figure out what its worth and then go get approved for a loan, take your loan letter into the random dealerships and tell them you don't want to waste your time or their time and want to get straight to the point. That 370Z over there I want it for X many dollars OTD. I've got money in hand. Make it happen, if you can't thats cool lets not drag this out. If they say no. Say thank you for your time and walk.

NEXT!

Sales guys for the most part don't know jack. Find the car online and figure out for yourself based on pictures or running the VIN if it is what you want.

Don't bother asking them.

Car Max sucks because they don't haggle or at least I've no zero luck with it. I can always get a car down way under listed price on the window.

Carmax is there for 1 reason, for me to test drive 5 different cars on one lot =)

Carmax is the worst place to go. I got a car from them one time and eventually had to get a new engine bescause of a rear main seal leak....there inspection is a joke.

Find all the info online know exactly what comes with the sports package and make sure the 370z your looking at has the equipment. Im pretty sure the sports package has the black brembo brakes. Not 100% sure.

Well if you're worried about them not knowing if it's a sport or not you can very easily figure that out on your own.

If you're looking at getting a 6MT, look no further than the S-mode button on the shifter console. Only the sport models come with the SynchroRev Match.

If you're looking at getting an auto, just look to make sure all the sport parts are there - big brakes, wheels, wing, chin spoiler, etc. Just go to nissanusa.com and look at what comes on the sport model 370s.

EDIT: Here's the specifics on the sport package -

Sport Package
Includes a viscous limited slip differential, 19" x 9" front and 19" x 10" rear 5-spoke RAYS super-lightweight forged alloy wheels, Bridgestone Potenza RE050 P245/40WR19 front and P275/35WR19 rear tires, Nissan sport brakes with 4-piston opposed aluminum calipers with 14.0" x 1.3" vented front discs and 2-piston opposed aluminum calipers with 13.8" x 0.8" vented rear discs, front chin spoiler, rear spoiler and SynchroRev Match down-shift rev-matching system (manual transmission only).

Bboy this is exactly what I was looking for. I thought the S might have been a give away but I wasn't 100% sure. This helps a ton. Thanks alot.

Jeffie thats the plan for the search and financing part. I also plan on enlisting Sondra(ex2cinaz) the car sales pro for some help.

PM Lemans350zTT, he's the sales manager @ Chantilly Nissan in VA and can hook you up w/ a 370z for a steal. Tell him Anh said to give you the, "ricer hookup." That's the magic word, automatic 10k off sticker.

Auctions for a wrecked 370? I never see nice cars at auctions, just bottom level trash cars that even b!tch a$$ dealers couldnt move or want to put on their shady lots.

Go to Orlando, it's the second largest auction in the world. It's not what you're used to in the N.E.. They move upwards of 30K cars a week through there. I've seen cars less than a year old there every time I go, including 370Z's!

Correct. If you find VDC, wheels and brakes, then the Z has the Sport package.

Cool, thanks for the tip Anh. I will definitely hit him up. I would however have expected a bigger discount considering the "ricer" password...something like for the price of on the house???
