My question: When I go to emissions in my G with no cats and exhaust, will they fail me because they can smell gas all around the car? I have no codes and am not worried about the visual inspection.
Tell em you just returned from the track and are still burning high octane race gas out of that tank. They cant fail you based on smell alone, so as long as your codes are clear you are fine. Telling them that BS excuse if they ask should be enough to fend em off...

I find it funny people for some reason think the people testing the car.

A. knows anything about cars.
B. Cares whatsoever about how your car runs.
C. Gives a **** about anything but getting off.

They plug a code reader into your car, if it doesn't kick any codes the computer then prints out a paper that says ok.

Only time your car will get flagged is if the check engine light is on in the first place, or if the car is smoking for longer then 10 seconds.

If you don't throw any codes, you'll be fine.

True. But there's always the off chance you get that "one guy" who takes his low-paying, menial labor job waaaay too seriously and will use that one little inkling of power to screw with you.

Wont happen, holding up the line to debate on an issue of if you do or do not have cats when they have no clue what a cat looks like, even if they do, they might not know the location, even if they know the location they still wont see it with the mirrors.

So aint gonna happen.

You have to remember, the Maryland smog program isn't about if your car is or is not smog friendly.

It's about not having a check engine light.

Even if you do fail somehow... you get a "FIALED" and you just need to go back and do the test again.
