I'm a Function > Form kind of guy. It's okay if Function and Form balance out. But man when you see people buy used G's for 10k, then spend 5k on some -20 offset wheels and spend another 10k on getting their fenders wider, bags, etc. It just makes absolutely no sense to me. I know it's a "culture" and I'm supposed to be diverse. Maybe I'm just getting old for these cool new concepts.

Being flush is functional. Being crazy aggressive/super poke is not. Theres a very clear line with all of the craze. Can't/shouldn't group everyone together on that one.

That's why I used the caveat "Hella " I just don't see the point in a stretched tire that handles like garbage and provides no traction... to each his own

According to inside sources, the scene derived from the Cali VW scene in the mid 2000's. VW's were the "joke" of the Euro scene, aka "the poor man's bimmer." Owners comprised mostly of adolescent teenagers without much money to modify anything. In order to fit in with the status-quo of BMW/Porsche ranks, kids would dump all their money into expensive rims. Most of them trying to fulfill a certain "look" and being uneducated bought rims with incorrect sizes/offsets that were generally never meant to work for their vehicles. The "stretched" tire look came from insufficient funding - most only allocated enough money for the rims themselves, not tires/mounting/balancing/alignments etc. Therefore, the smaller the diameter tire, the less expensive it would be to obtain, thus "Hella:Flush" was born.

Over the years, it soon trickled down to other various platforms and became overall popular with car enthusiasts around the nation.
