I'm thinking of taking my Z there to get some possible work done. Any have any experience with them?

 

I did. Dave@Funtion was the one who reflashed and tuned my Z. When I was out there he was the only tuner I'd let touch my car when it came to stuff beyond bolt on up grades. I can't complain about his work and if I was still out there I'd still go to him. that was like 3 years ago and my tune is still running strong.

 

They ran out of business awhile ago.

 

I heard about that. They got evicted or something?

I ran into another Z owner at the gas station the other day and he gave me coupon for FunctionTUNED for 25% off a dyno tune. He said (I think Dave) gave him a bunch of flyers to hand out and advertise. They're address is 23571 pebble run drive unit 145, dulles, va. He said that every friday a bunch of guys take there cars up there and just chill. I haven't read anything negative about them and I do need to get my car re-tuned and get some things checked after AAM got their hands on it... I think ima take it there

 

I had heard that they went out of buisness too, but I dont know any details on it. I also read in the GTR forums negative things. But needless to say, he did very good work on my car and didnt have a problem with his buisness. To be honest I had heard many more negative things about about Mike@ AAM. But the only thing I ever did was buy my HFC from from AAM. But I only heard these things

 

I used ft awhile back. Currently the only place I'd take my boosted z to is hills garage. Frank hill is **** about stuff. It reminds me of myself.

 

I took my car to Mike, and he suggested I put 3" True Dual exhaust on my NA car (this is before I knew anything about cars) so I did it and wow what a mistake that was. I was like are you kidding me? I got that, AAM HFCs, and an Osiris tune done. I told them the exhaust had to come off (got pulled over twice in half an hour of driving because of how loud it was) and they took it off the next day but had problems "finding" my old exhaust, but they finally got it. I had asked them to take the HFCs off too cuz they were raspy as hell but they forgot that, and then I told them I wanted my stock cats back and I email with them for awhile and they said they'd "look" for them; soon after they stopped answering me. Anyways, after the 3" exhaust was taken off I asked Mike to re-tune it for me, so he walked out, and came back in literally less than 5 minutes and told me he re-tuned it. I was pissed at that point and just left. Now my acceleration is **** and throttle response sucks. It has this issue now where sometimes when I give it a lot of gas at once, it just does nothing, kinda stalls for a couple seconds then finally picks up and responds. Happens all the time and almost got me t-boned once. I will not go back to AAM again I can garauntee you that. So that is why I'm looking for someone else to tune my car.... Sorry for the big block off text.

I've heard about Hills Garage too, does he tune aswell? I really need a good tuner.

 

After having Frank at Hills Garage return my car it now feels like a factory turbo car. Zero issues with starting, zero issues with stalling, and zero hiccups at any point in the RPM range or any level of boost.

It was like a light switch was flipped and the car became a whole different car over night.

 

I may have to get in touch with them. I might try FT first though because they're alot closer to me than Baltimore.

That's another thing with mine, it runs rough right at 1,750 RPM. Just that one area it rumbles a little. Kinda worries me.

 

Unless FT reopened its doors, its not there.

 

Good point. This guy I talked to at the gas station though was tellin' me how awesome they are and that they had re-opened etc. At the time I had no idea who they were. I'll do some research.

 

I am pretty sure they are out of business.

They are no longer in business, I talked to Dave a couple weeks ago and there is no talk of reopening FT

The guy at the gas station also told me they have meets and whatnot on fridays... he told me he was on his way to one. This was this past friday. I'm guessing he was just confused....
