I think it has more to do with not being able to say no.

His new boss said, hey, you should come out and play paint ball with us. He went to say I'm busy that day with a party for a friend of mine who has been in afghan for 6 months, sorry I can't but would love to do it another day. And as soon as he went to say that. "Ok" came out.

Nah son, more like I've known some of them since I moved here in 98 and since I'm the "new" guy on the staff it'd be the perfect way to get in good with the rest of the gym staff and to let them know I'm down for more stuff like this.
Besides I already know what's going to happen that night without the benefit of a time traveling DeLoren : most everyone will show up late, you and Linh will stay in the kitchen ignoring your guests making way too much food, at some point we'll eat and then begin drinking, Scott won't be able to handle his alcohol and be the first one drunk and passed out, we'll either play a drinking or some other game until people get bored, at some point you'll pull your camera out and begin setting up Zain for the inevitable ***** pics, someone [Scott] will spill his drink on your table/floor/throw rug and Linh will throw a fit, we'll go up stairs and look at the same samurai sword/and guns that are never used or fired, we'll go downstairs and you'll try and show off on your keyboard, eventually the Azn people [your friends?] who never made an attempt to talk to any of the Z guys will leave and then we will all roll out several hours later...

 

If the Z guys stay in their group of friends and the Azns stay in their group of friends why do you think the random girls will come over and start talking with the Z guys? They interact but they're not going to go out of their way to find a new BF with the random guys at a get together.

 

uhhhh in theory couldnt you play paintball then come to the party? whenever I play paintball its usually a morning session, fininshing up around 4 ish. considering that many of us will be coming later in the evening, and likely staying for a good amount of time (as per usual) it seems possible to do both no? just a thought, anyway i'll let you guys get back to it

 

Hopefully Clay is able to make a showing. Sounds like we might bore him but I'm ok with that. As long as he shows up.
