Agreed. And yes, it's all about the $$$. The newer folks don't come out because they can't invest into modifications. Car modding is as much a hobby as it is an ego boost/self-identity. Those with low self esteem can't muster the courage to show up with a relatively stock car. You can't imagine the amount of times I hear, "but my car is stock, should I still come out?"

Most owners these days purchased their VQ's under the 10k mark. With that being said, you have a majority of owners in high school/early college. How much were we making back then? $7-12/hr at most? No income = no mods = no incentive to come show off a stock car. Ultimately, this translates to, "rather spend $50 on that shiny used intake + HP stickers."

That being said Mike (aka MDRACER), Rich (Goofy147) and I were usually there every Friday night. Even if it meant I was only there for 30 mins.

If you make 7-12 an hour you need to be in a CIVIC. I have no simpathy for people who live above their means. I too started a business with a condo, wife, kids, school. I did way too much and got myself into a bit a debt. So I worked two jobs for about 4/5 months to get myself out. I still bought hp stickers for the car though.

I guess my point is, that these younger folks are not true car enthusiast. they are not die hard "forget everything" lets roll type of people like we all once were.

I had the most fun in my car when it was lightly modded. because I was not afraid of crashing. Now a small crash cost me 3 times as much so I have "more fun" but less often, if that makes sense.

I cant belive folks with crazy camber and only get 7K miles out of a set of tires. That is freggin INSANE to mee... but then again I paid 1800 for stickers once in my cars life time. So its priorities like 10K brakes on a non boosted car. No sense to me but who am I to judge.

@Dan, yes its me. Corey aka GZILLA aka 4shizzil on my350z. lol

ill try to fire this place up. NGC has big things coming along with Wheels To Heal going Nonprofit and partnering with Pepsi, Tropicana, and the NewYork City School System.

big things... I want to replace the old College Park Meet with something im putting together. might take a few years, but Ill do it.

Corey I'm with you. I've relegated myself to just going to Summit Point and doing the Karting Leagues and HPDE's. I would do more stuff, but it seems like no one wants to do anything of substance. I would be down for some of these events.

You said it all right there in one sentence. That real passionate crowd had been long gone and moved on.

As far as me personally, this site became more about the people I've met and grown to be cool with and less about the cars. I'd much rather meet up and chill at a BBQ and throw a couple beers back then sit in a parking lot while some loser gets to tell us all about how much he paid for his new turbo kit.

If it's for a good cause, then I'm there. I think the event Barny tried to do at Frank Hill's place was a good start even if the girls flaked on him at the last minute but he did it to raise money for charity.

And if it's a road trip somewhere, I'm cool with that too. But sorry, I'm not even going near VA. 20+ of the same car is just asking for trouble from some douchebag VA cop or trooper with nothing to do but harass us. Or some craptacular Civic owner with a chip on his shoulder or redneck douche with rebel stickers on his pickup trying to break up our convoy line. Seen it happen too many times and almost saw an accident happen because of it.

I understand wanting to breathe life back into the Mid-A though, because when 2011's CPT event didn't happen it pretty much killed the enthusiasm for pretty much everything afterwards...

knock on wood we have never had an issue when its a bunch of us. Prob because mostly i lead and have my son in the car cruise set at 60mph. we actually get thumbs up most of the time. But then again on I95 its all state troopers not FFCounty dirt behind the wheel.

I feel you man. I host BBQs and HHR at my place all the time, usually its my gov co-workers and contractors that attend, because most of my ricers wont drive to my place even though I tell them they can crash. lol

ill see what I can do, National G Club is on fire right now and trying to get things rolling for 2012 already, so Ill try to spread the love like butter over here.

I drive 60+ miles just to get to the northern most meets (Hills).

If you want a road trip, why don't you all come up here and we can go to the casino? That way I can get home first for a change
