Default Shops in the Hampton Roads area

Hello all, I'm relatively new to the forums here, introduced myself a few months back but haven't really done much other than lurk and learn till now. I am not new to cars at all and up until this point in my life done all of my own work. With that said however I no longer have a place to do any in depth work beyond the basics as i am now active military and don't have a location for it. I have an 03 Base and am planning on getting an LSD and new final drive along with all the bushings for the rear end shortly after the new years (most likely as soon as i get my tax return). And although i have searched around a bit I was wondering if there are any shops semi local to the area that would be recommended for the install. Sorry if this is a question that has been asked a bunch before, but i have looked around the Mid-Atlantic forum and didn't see any similar questions over the last few pages. I am originally from Chicago and haven't been out here that long so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The only specialty Z shop is TidewaterZ:
http://www.tidewaterz.com/

The owner is also the president of Tidewater Z Car Club. They do great work from what I hear. Last time I was at their shop (5-6 months ago) I saw a bunch of Z33s getting work done. I haven't had any work done by them though.

My Z was only touched by Custom Car Care:
http://www.customcarcareva.com/

CCC is very experienced with high quality work.

My buddy that's in VB goes to All Aspect Motorsports:
http://www.allaspectsmotorsports.com/

He has a highly modified Z33 as well. Good luck

True. He owns a V36 now. Works with a dude from Charles Barker Infiniti. I'm not sure about a shop but I know he has access to a garage somewhere and does a lot of installs, etc.

OP - For what you are looking to get done, I would HIGHLY recommend Tidewater Z. It is not particularly convenient (they are in Poquoson) but the owner (Todd) knows our cars like no-one else in the area.
I also know the guys at All Aspects and they are great also. However, Z's are just not their "thing".

Definitely stay away from Nissan of Chesapeake on Battlefield Blvd. I've owned Nissans/Datsuns for over 30 years, and have never been treated as poorly by any shop. They flat out accused me of lying. Even after going to the GM and owner, they didn't say sorry or try to fix what they broke.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Hall Nissan out in Western Branch are truly amazing to deal with. They won't be able to rebuild your engine or differential, but if you need your Z serviced, aligned, or repaired, I have had great service from them.

I swear by the guys at All Aspects, but they are an awsome group of guys.

one shop that you might run into that is close to you, just going by your location, is East Coast Truck and Auto or East Coast Customs... dont ever go there by any means... you can learn from my pain here https://my350z.com/forum/mid-atlanti...op-review.html

now that i've started to take the motor apart i've found lots of "loose ends" that they left un attended or just didnt bother to finish or properly address.

As for Sage, they too are a great group of guys, I know many of them personally and they do do good work, but like many of the shops around here they are not Z specific.

If you dont mind driving TidwaterZ is going to be your best bet for Z specific work, but with what your looking to do Sage or All Aspects will take great care of you and will def get you on your way with no issues.

Or you can just rent my garage for a few days and buy my a few cases or booze and i'll do it for you lol
