Young one: Hey man do you street race?
Me: uh no.
Young one: Then why do you need a nice car?
Me: Well sorta like if you have a big penis, do you need to go around telling everyone you fuck every girl in town?
Young one: I would tell everyone!
Me: That's exactly why you neither have a big penis nor fucking any girl in general.
Some douche in a turboed Dodge Caliber tried to race me on the way home tonight in bumper to bumper traffic. I'm still in shock someone actually wasted the money to beef up a grocery getting POS.
There's no one in my office today :[
Out for opening day
or Easter weekend sighhghghghghhh so bored. I need some entertainment here..
But I did get all my parts for manual swap! Hope to do that this weekend
How do you guys pass emissions? Or how does one go about not going through emissions?
just curious because I see cars with swaps all the time and i know they still have to go through emissions but how do they do it?
Edit: never thought I could love a tomato so much
There are so many different ways to trick the emission test. Back in the day in MD you simply have to have a low enough car that wouldn't go through the roller and they have to "extend" you for 2 years. Now that they don't have the roller anymore, they simply plug into an ODB2 sensor to see if there's any code.
So depending on what code your car would throw with all the "swaps" you could use different strategies. Like for test pipes you can get the extenders for the test pipes so the sensors won't smell too much fuel/air. With a flash you could actually disable a code to be thrown all together. Obviously there're pros and cons about doing such thing but it'll guarantee that the car would pass emission.
Clear codes prior to inspection drive about 12 miles test then 6 miles later CEL comes on. That is how.
only asking because a guy has a 1998 kouki 240 with an sr20det and he is selling because he doesnt want to deal with emissions. Just curious to what could be done to fix the issue.
