Don't really know what exactly happened but if you're working on someone's car and break something you should at least fix it... I don't see how they trust him to not do the same thing to their cars. I guess people ignore things like that as long as it's not their car.

This is the first real money it sucked out of me besides the turbo blowing, i think my plan is fix it drive it around for awhile then put it up for sale, then maybe pick up a STi Hatch
yeah I checked the coils on the relays they seem good but the switches on the relay could be bad, so was going to look the coil the the car battery and test the switch part of the relay, the other option is test the power at the connectors for the fans and see if its getting power, and the 3rd option is the test the fans them selves by just hooking them directly up to the battery. Might do this tomorrow or next week depends on how motivated i am tomorrow. If it turns out to be the fans anyone run anything besides stock, dont think i really need more then stock but figured someone might have some input.
So, the car only overheats when you are at idle?
Do you have the fan shroud?

The fans do not work, I ran the Auto Active Test and the one fan came on on low the first time through the AAT but then never came one the following two tests in the cycle. Its either the Relays or the Fans themselves. And yes I have a fan shroud.
Why sugar coat it? He is a young guy he doesn't have to go down the same path I did. The LARP comment, that was for me
