Another WIN for Hill's Garage
Well, I know it's getting to be old hat but these people are one-of-a-kind. Took the Z in for suspension work and fluid changes. The car came back better then it went in. One might say it was because of the parts that were installed. That's part of it but not the whole story.
The work- went in for KW Club Sport Coil Overs, SPL front and rear camber arms, spherical bushings, front compression rod bushings, traction links, knuckle bushings (pretty much every suspension part SPL sells for the Z except sway bar links- already had 'em), oil change and diff gear oil change. The car had the Nismo S suspension, Nismo LSD and stock camber/bushings. I track the car from time to time and this is way more than I will probably ever need but hey, while you're in there, why NOT?
The result- alignment is perfect. About 1 degree neg camber front and about 1.5 degree rear- both within specs and exactly where I wanted to start. Frank did the alignment himself because NOTHING remained stock as far a suspension adjustment goes so your standard shop would not touch it. KWs set at recommended dampening and rebound with ride height exactly where it was with the Nismo suspension- 0.75 in drop.
Car handles really great. I've not pushed it too hard on this new setup but it far out performs the Nismo suspension. Traffic circles and on/off ramps are even more fun now with the KWs and my Hankook RS3s. I've tried some of my favorites around town and now I easily get dizzy whereas before I did not. And this is at the completely stock/recommended settings. Also, you can feel every little imperfection in the road with these solid bushings but not to the point of distraction or discomfort. Just a little vibration in the steering wheel when you hit a rock or mud spot left in the road by some truck or farm equipment. Car tracks absolutely straight too. The ride is actually better then my old suspension. Needless to say I have a lot to learn about how to set this suspension up for my driving style but I have plenty of friends at SCCA who can help me.
On the Nismo LSD gear oil change- went to Motul 90 w from Valvoline synthetic 75-90 and what a difference. Not clacking and popping when the diff is cold or warm for that matter. I've heard the gears a couple of times but very faintly in corners at speed.
Needless to say I am super happy with the results. Hill's takes great pains and great pride in making sure my car was exactly right. They even found a few things not quite right with my car and took care of those too. Like I said, it came back better than it went in. In this day and time, when is the last time you spent your money and came away absolutely completely satisfied? In my opinion, those instances are becoming fewer and fewer in today's economic environment.

I think I have your stock parts on my car...
Let me know if you want money for them. I broke the aftermarket camber arm I had, which bent and ruined everything else (except the motons...thanks god).

^^ The spl guy said start with stock settings and go from there. Right now im more concerned about bump and rebound. Maybe we can meet up and i will let u see what u think.
No charge on the camper arm. Frank told me u broke u r Ichiba.

German engineering. Gotta love it. only harshness I've notices so far is at the edge of bridges and that's probably solid bushings not the kw. I was always worried about harsh ride for a mostly street car. Now i know it was no problem at least with these covers.

I hope you bought them first hand. I've had to have my v3 rebuilt twice already. lifetime warranty ftw. the two people I know with competitions needed rebuilds within 10k.
they are really nice but come with a price, as with everything else in the world.
the harshness is the bushings, I have the same issue and my spring rates are 1/3 less than you.

^^ purchased new and I got the best price from TH Motorsports. Shipped direct from KW in Germany. Anybody else had issues with KW coilovers just out of curosity?
Also I bought my SPL parts from Import Parts Pro and I have to give them a plug too. I ordered rear toe arms 6 months ago thinking I needed them. Turned out I didn't and their return policy is 30 days. I had no problem sending them back plus they give a good discount on all the parts even over buying direct from SPL.
