its the damn customs which raise all prices in Leb....not to mention registration which is ridiculous!!!!
registration here is like 100$
but the best thing about leb is insurance!!!
in my previous 300ZX estimated cost was 10,000 90-91 model..
i paid 450$ yearly insurance....and no excess!!!my fault or not!
here am paying 2100$ yearly
+ 2% of damage cost + 650$ ( if its my fault!!)
outrageous!!

It's 50k$ + 5k VAT + 5k registration.
All risk insurance is 4% of the original price so it's 2k$ the first year.

Thanks samery, great pics and I'm still so amazed by how great your country is. The changes thats been made and still being made is just astoudning, especially in 20 yrs!!!
Also, I greatly appreciate the pics but I was hoping for more like home-taken pictures. The professional pics are great but to me they lack the feel and sensation of amature pictures.

Don't be sorry, I ask for pics and you did just that. My fault for not being clearer. I'm curious, is there a big Chirstmas season in Dubai and the middle east? What holidays do muslim celebrate? Please educate me, thanks.

Well I'm not muslim myself, neither am i a citizen of the UAE (I'm actually Lebanese).. Dubai is part of the United Arab Emirates- which is a Muslim country- but trust me when i say this country is the most open-minded and GLOBAL country on the planet- no one will ever treat you differently just because of your race, religion or ethnicity (which is more than we can say about almost every country on Earth)
The amazing thing about this place though, is that there are people from everywhere and Dubai is actually made up of an 80 % expatriate population- most of which are European, American, Asian and African. That means Christmas is huge here- stores are nicely decorated, hotels have special parties etc, and all the churches hold the usual christmas events-
So there you have it, a muslim country that welcomes all religions like they are its own; people celebrate Christian, Hindu and even Buddhist holidays here- its great;
cheers and you should come visit- you'd be surprised;;

What holidays do muslim celebrate?
We celebrate 2 major days..
one that comes after our fasting month, Ramadan, which is called "Eid Al-Fetr" which roughly means "Breakfasting Celebration"..
Ramadan is the 9th month in our calendar (Lunar system) where we fast all the days of the months and break the fasting when sunsets..
look here: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=calendar and see the Islamic calendar to have a better idea
then comes the major celebration, which is called "Eid Al-Adha" and I really don't know how to translate it
This celeberation comes after the day of pilgrimage in the last month, Dhu’l-Hijjah, of our year.
so those are our celebration

Nice to see saudi guy joining us, mind telling us more about you and your Z?
well, as of my Z, my sig will tell you all about it
I am just inspecting and doing some research to decide which car I should buy.. now, my alternatives are the 350Z, Lexus IS350 or the last resort, Toyota Avalon..
the Z is defintly a great car.. I test drove it and loved it.. but the problem is that our dealer is known for his bad maintaince services plus he sells the Z for a very expensive price! that's SR 153,000 !! can you imagine that!? even the GT trim in the USA with full options is less than that price..
also, something backing me off from the Z is the problems I read about everywhere here..
ehhh.. such a hard decision to make.. really I am having hard times deciding..
can you please tell me how much the 2006 350Z, GT and Touring MT trims cost in Dubai? I might actually get it, if I decided to get the Z that is , from there and ship to Makkah..
edit: oh yes, I forgot, my name is Saleh

Saleh, the only thing I can say is get the Z, its worth it,,
As for nissan and their service, well yeah nissan is known for its crappy service all over the world not just in your country, I took my car there 5 times for a noise coming from the rear strut bar and they could fix it, hell I took it to a friends garage and he fixed for me
As for the problems of the Z, what problems? I didnt experiance any major problem with my car, only changed the brakes at 10,000 KMS since I brake the car hard, ut thats normal nothing to worry about.
The price range for the Z here is between 125,000-140,000 AED
boogey76 just recently got his car, its '05 model and also samery is waiting for his '06 to be delivered to him, I hope they chime in and give you some specific details

wah! Dhs 148,000 is almost the same as SR 153,000! and I suppose it's Grand Touring, right?
man, those prices aint right at all! why are our dealers so greedy?
as for the resell value here, I tell you it's PRETTY bad! so those factors are really playing with my decision..
and the most important frightning factor is the near redesign of the Z.. I've posted a long thread about this issue when I first came here.. I really don't want to buy a car and then after a couple of years a new generation is out! that would suck.
