Default Tires

I hope you guys are kidding. You need as large as possible in both diameter and width. It's a big heavy car with short gearing.
It's not like you have to worry about loss of power you have more then enough torque.

Go with

305/30 18 Front ($268)
335/30 18 Rear ($295)
Thats as wide as hoosier gets

The only thing to worry about is clearing the fenders.

LOL! You were the one that said get the widest "wheels" when we were talking Hoosiers, you teutonic teton

Hey Mark. You gonna have the Z4 in time for the Ft. Myers Tour? BTW, I heard a rumor about a couple of old hands going and buying S2ks just to beat your Z4!

Default Yokohama AVS Sports ?

I put a set of the AVS Sports on the rear to get better traction at the strip (yes much better now) I noticed that they seem to hold a whole lot better then the stock tires in the corners both wet and dry (that's not saying much) but they really do!

They come in a lot of 18 inches sizes to fit my track model so maybe I would like to use them for both street and track use :-)

I picked the 255/45/18 for the back only because they were the closest to stock (no 245/45s or 265/40s) but now after all the discussion above I am wondering if I should have gone with 295/35 in the back and the 275/35 in the front.

I haven't purchased any fronts yet but was going with 245/40s since these are suppose to be same height as the stock fronts (225/45)

which means buying the Track model you overwound torqueless matchbox. What part about Track model having the widest wheels for Stock don't you freaking understand, Puzz?

I'm literally in a cold sweat you obviously forgot what class I just came out of, no tougher competition than Strelnieks, Ames, Molleker, Johnson, etc. I already stated in another thread that I have no aspirations of winning in Ft Myers anyways, it's just a practice/dial-in for me since it will literally be the first event in a new, undeveloped car. My personal bet is on Pat Salerno kicking everyone's butt in a 350Z Track, you heard it here first.

Afterall, it's not like I'll already have optimized ultralight wheels, prototype Koni DA's, custom catback titanium straight pipes, or anything like that ... it will just be me in my poopy little factory stock Z4 to serve as trophy fodder for the S2000's, 350Z's, and Boxsters.

I definitely agree with that!! Should be very interesting.

BTW, is anyone making aftermarket stuff for the Z4 or 350Z yet (adj front swaybar, adj shocks, lighter exhaust)?
